The Africanfuturist heist game, Relooted, is coming to Xbox Series and PC on February 10th, according to developer Nyamakop. It will be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Imagine a team of ordinary people from across Africa, each with their own everyday job. They have a daring mission: to reclaim historical African treasures currently held in museums in the West. The details of how they’ll pull it off? That’s where you come in.

Towards the end of the 21st century, a treaty was agreed upon between major world powers to return African artifacts held in museums to their place of origin. Initially, diplomatic efforts seemed successful, but a change to the treaty altered the agreement. Museums, realizing only items currently on public display would be repatriated, began quietly taking artifacts off exhibit.

If you’re facing challenges – like recovering stolen treasures from museums – it’s time to get creative and find a clever way to get them back. You’ll be reclaiming 70 real-world artifacts that are deeply important to the cultures and communities they originally belonged to.

Teamwork Makes The Heist Work

The story begins with a mischievous younger brother who constantly causes trouble. Luckily, as the character Nomali, you’ll team up with a diverse crew of dependable allies from across Africa. You’ll recruit all sorts of people – from the typical hacker to, surprisingly, your very proper grandmother! And don’t underestimate her – grandma can definitely hold her own.

Carefully plan your escape by scouting the route, practicing any puzzles or challenges you’ll face, and gathering a skilled team to help you succeed.

After you’ve carefully prepared and the item looks convincingly in place—even if it doesn’t quite fit yet, you’ll address that quickly—it’s time to act. Taking the item starts a timer, and with Nomali’s agile movements, escaping should feel like an exciting, fast-paced chase. However, if you didn’t plan well, you’ll face the consequences!
