The popular manga series, Deadpool: Samurai, is back after a long break! The story previously followed Deadpool battling a particularly dangerous version of himself in an alternate reality. Now, in its twenty-first issue, Wade Wilson finds himself in a brand new world inspired by Shonen anime and manga. After teaming up with All Might from My Hero Academia to fight Thanos, this series has proven anything is possible. Instead of putting Deadpool in typical anime power fantasies, the story has created a unique and sometimes surprising world for the Merc with a Mouth.
Heads up! This discussion contains major spoilers for Deadpool: Samurai, Chapter 21, so don’t read on if you haven’t read it yet. Last time we saw Deadpool, Wade Wilson was battling an alternate version of himself – a fusion with Wolverine. This “Wolverine-Pool” is out for revenge and plans to flood Wilson’s universe with multiple Deadpools to cause chaos. To do this, he needs a special device called a “tempad,” and he tries to kill Wade to get it. However, Deadpool manages to grab the tempad first and uses it to escape to another dimension. That dimension happens to be the world of the anime World’s End Harem, which, given Wade’s tastes, might be exactly where he wants to be.
It was a fun surprise to see Deadpool reimagined as a samurai and brought into the ‘World’s End Harem’ universe! Hopefully, the creators will really lean into this humorous twist and make his return truly memorable.

Why Deadpool & World’s End Harem Are a Match Made in Heaven
The anime World’s End Harem is set in a world devastated by a strange virus called the “MK Virus,” which has killed off 99.9% of the male population. The story follows Reito Mizuhara, who survives because he was cryogenically frozen for a life-threatening illness. He wakes up to a world almost entirely populated by women and must uncover the cure for the virus while also navigating unwanted romantic attention. If you’re interested in watching, all episodes of the World’s End Harem anime are available on Crunchyroll.
After a significant delay, the latest chapter of Deadpool: Samurai included more than just the continuation of the story. Writer Sanshiro Kasama began the chapter with a funny apology to readers, explaining his regret for the long wait. He promised to be more careful going forward, acknowledging that the characters are from Marvel and vowing to create enjoyable, family-friendly content. He finished by asking readers to continue supporting Deadpool: Samurai.
