Dark Winds Officially Debuts Tense Trailer Ahead of Season 4 Return

Viewers of AMC’s Dark Winds, a show from the executive producer of Game of Thrones, are now getting a first look at the upcoming fourth season of the suspenseful western thriller. The network recently released the official trailer for Dark Winds Season 4, which will premiere on February 15th.

The acclaimed television series Dark Winds, currently holding a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, is based on the Leaphorn & Chee novels by Tony Hillerman. It was developed for television by Graham Roland and features Zahn McClarnon, Kiowa Gordon, Jessica Matten, and Deanna Allison in its cast.

Season 4 comes a year after Dark Winds Season 3 and will focus on the search for a missing Navajo girl who will take Leaphorn (McClarnon), Chee (Gordon), and Manuelito (Matten) “from the safety of Navajo Nation to the gritty terrain of 1970s Los Angeles in a race against the clock to save her from an obsessive killer with ties to organized crime.”

You can watch the trailer below. The show’s tagline is: “No matter how many times you ride out to the desert, you won’t sweat away who you are.” Alongside Martin, the late Robert Redford also helped produce Dark Winds. The series follows detectives Leaphorn, Chee, and Manuelito of the Navajo Tribal Police as they investigate crimes on their reservation in the 1970s.

New Cast Members Join Season 4

Season four of Dark Winds will welcome new actors Franka Potente (as Irene Vaggan), Isabel DeRoy-Olson (as Billie Tsosie), Chase Spencer (as Sonny), Luke Barnett (as FBI Agent Toby Shaw), and Titus Welliver (as Dominic McNair). A. Martinez will also be back as Acting Chief Gordo Sena.

I’ve been totally hooked on this show! It’s currently available on both AMC+ and Netflix, and it blew up pretty quickly on Netflix – it was constantly in the Top 10 most-watched shows, which is awesome!

Critics have given Dark Winds positive reviews, with particular praise for Zahn McClarnon’s performance as the tribal police lieutenant. Some reviewers even called his work in Season 3 his strongest yet. However, The Navajo Times criticized the show’s portrayal of Navajo people and their language. In response, the show hired a Navajo cultural advisor starting with the second season.

Dark Winds Season 4 will premiere on Feb. 15 on AMC.
