It seems like many folks are expressing a lot of negativity about the appearance of the new Predator character in “Predator: Badlands”. Could it just be me, or do you share this observation?
To put it simply, having seen each and every Predator film, I couldn’t be more thrilled if I tried – I can hardly contain my excitement for this upcoming release!
And, because of the relatively recent trailer, I have a few reasons why.
First Off, Predator: Badlands Is From The Same Director Of Prey, And Prey Rocked
I was excited when I learned that “Predator: Badlands” was planning a significant shift in the franchise by featuring a Predator as the main character. However, hearing that Dan Trachtenberg would be back at the helm made me absolutely ecstatic!
Any ardent fan of Predator will not hesitate to confirm: The 2022 movie Prey, a film we highly praised, was extraordinary. Notably, it was Shawn Levy who took the director’s chair for this masterpiece; interestingly, he is also responsible for directing the upcoming animated film, Predator: Killer of Killers, which has been kept under wraps to a certain extent.
Given how amazing “Prey” is and how promising “Killer of Killers” appears within the series, I must admit that I’ll follow Trachtenberg wherever he leads in relation to this franchise. He definitely understands it well.

Secondly, I Love When Predator Movies Are Set In The Future Or On Distant Planets
One exciting aspect I’m eagerly anticipating is that the story of “Badlands” takes place on a far-off world and in the future, which are typically elements I enjoy most in such narratives.
I really enjoy movies like “Predator 2” and “Predators”, mainly because they offer a unique twist on the typical franchise formula.
In contrast, the initial sequel unfolds several years ahead in Los Angeles, while Predators occurs on a far-off planet, marking it as unique among these films – for now, until Badlands – in its alien setting.
As a self-proclaimed aficionado of the Predator saga, I must say that the upcoming “Prey” seems like an intriguing contrast to the very first installment in the timeline, “Predator.” Now, I’ve always had a soft spot for this alien hunter, and truth be told, I find the Predator series more captivating than even the Alien franchise. However, there’s another factor that sent shivers down my spine when I caught a glimpse of the latest trailer. You see, it reminded me of the raw, untamed beauty and suspenseful tension found in “Badlands,” which, to me, is a testament to its potential as an outstanding addition to the Predator franchise.

I’m Actually Intrigued By This Younger Predator (Look And All!)
Previously, I pointed out that many individuals have expressed negativity towards the revamped Predator’s appearance, with some even perceiving it as feeble or lacking in strength.
It seems they don’t understand that his character isn’t intended to embody an alpha figure; rather, he’s portrayed as an outsider who’s struggling. Instead of voluntarily journeying to a far-off planet to combat the top warriors, he’s undergoing a test of some kind.
This idea is incredibly intriguing! It’s fascinating that the Predator character is striving to demonstrate his skills, yet seems inexperienced or raw in the art of the chase.
Moreover, his hesitant demeanor in that frequently discussed photograph intrigues me. The thought of a hunter faltering? Indeed, it’s something I’m eagerly anticipating.
