With the latest confirmed games for Steam Deck, players can relive the charm of classic PlayStation 1 and SEGA titles. When a game is marked as “Verified” on Steam Deck, it means Valve has thoroughly tested the game to guarantee not only its compatibility with the handheld PC but also its smooth performance on Steam Deck. This sets apart Verified games from those simply labeled as “Playable” on Steam Deck. In other words, a fresh wave of Verified titles is now available for Steam Deck users.
One standout title among the confirmed games for Steam Deck is the Lunar Remastered Collection, released on Steam on April 18th. For those who may be unfamiliar, this collection features two classic games: Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete. The first game, Lunar: Silver Star Story, is actually a remake of the original 1992 release, Lunar: The Silver Star, which was the beginning of the Lunar series. Although it initially came out in 1996, it was only available in Japan on the Sega Saturn. However, many recognize it as a PlayStation 1 game due to its western release in 1999, but not through the Sega Saturn, but rather via the PlayStation 1 instead.
Initially released in Japan for the Sega CD in 1994, Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete is a follow-up to Lunar: Silver Star. It didn’t reach Western shores until 1995, and then again it was only available in Japan on PlayStation 1 until 1999. However, the Japanese version for PS1 hit Western markets the following year.
The Lunar Remastered Collection is an updated version of two games originally developed by Game Arts, but now remade by AshiBi Co. and GungHo Online Entertainment. For those unaware, these developers are distinct from the creators of the original games.
Explore the captivating realms of Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete, as described on Steam. Join Alex and Hiro on their journeys and confront formidable foes such as the Magic Emperor and God of Destruction to prevent catastrophe in two tales that unfold a thousand years apart!
On both Steam and Steam Deck, you’ll find the Lunar Remastered Collection priced at $49.99. To keep up with the latest news, rumors, leaks, and deals regarding the Steam Deck, simply click here.
