Attack on Titan Returns With a New Look At The Main Trio

Fans can revisit the epic conclusion of Attack on Titan when a remastered version of Attack on Titan: The Final Chapter – The Last Attack hits Dolby Cinemas on January 9th. This special film combines the two parts of the anime’s finale. The series, originally based on Hajime Isayama’s popular manga, has been a hit with audiences since it first aired in 2013. When it came time to animate the final story arc, the studio WIT passed the project to MAPPA, the team behind well-known anime like Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man. MAPPA’s work on Attack on Titan improved the animation and helped the series reach even more viewers. The final season jumps ahead four years in time, focusing on Eren Yeager’s journey as he uncovers the secrets of his world.

The anime focuses on Eren, but his friends Mikasa and Armin are also central to the story. To celebrate the anime’s re-release in theaters, fans who attend screenings will receive a different bonus item each week. This week’s bonus is a brand new illustration by the creator, Isayama, showing Eren, Mikasa, and Armin looking out into the distance. These limited-edition visuals will be available starting on the 23rd, while supplies last, so fans are encouraged to get them quickly.

Attack on Titan Has One of The Best Trios in Shonen

When you think of classic Shonen anime trios, Eren, Mikasa, and Armin are definitely among the best. These groups often feature a lot of playful arguments and a unique dynamic. But what sets Eren, Mikasa, and Armin apart in Attack on Titan is their incredibly strong and enduring friendship, forged through shared hardship from a very young age. Eren once rescued Mikasa, and after she lost her family, she became like a daughter to his parents, living with them and forming a truly close bond.

Armin, like Eren and Mikasa, was orphaned at a young age and raised by his grandfather. The three of them formed a close, supportive family, protecting each other from bullies and later, from much greater threats. Even after a devastating attack on their home, they remained united and joined the Survey Corps together. Each person brought unique skills and strengths to the group, helping them overcome every obstacle they faced.

In Season 4, the group split up after Eren made a difficult choice to protect them, a decision that deeply saddened Mikasa and Armin. After the devastating events known as the Rumbling, Mikasa buried Eren near their childhood home and eventually found happiness with someone else, living a long and peaceful life while always remembering him and visiting his resting place. Armin dedicated himself to building peace between Paradis and the rest of the world, hoping to create a brighter future.
