The action-adventure game 1348 Ex Voto, known for its striking visuals and movie-like combat, was first shown in August and then went quiet. Now, it’s officially launching on March 12th for both PlayStation 5 and PC. You can watch the release date trailer, shared by IGN, below.
Unfortunately, the game won’t be released on Xbox Series X/S. The developers decided to focus on other platforms to ensure the best possible gaming experience. For those just learning about it, 1348 Ex Voto tells the story of Aeta, a knight played by Alby Baldwin, who is on a quest to rescue Bianca (voiced by Jennifer English). The game is set in a historically inspired Italy, and players will explore the beautiful landscapes of the Italian Peninsula – from rolling grasslands to towering mountains – even though the period was a time of upheaval.
I’m really excited about the combat in 1348 Ex Voto’s! It’s based on actual historical sword fighting techniques, which is so cool. You play as Aeta, and she can fight with her sword in a bunch of different ways – one-handed, two-handed, and you learn new moves from books. Plus, you can customize her weapon, which is awesome. What really makes it stand out though is how realistic it feels thanks to performance capture – it’s like you’re really swinging that sword!
Priced at just $24.99, 1348 Ex Voto promises a lot for its price. The question is whether it can stand out as another great, affordable action-adventure game. We’ll have our answer when it’s released in March.
