A popular EA game normally priced at $70 on the PlayStation Store is now available for only $7 – a massive 90% discount for PS5 owners! While the game doesn’t have special upgrades for the PS5 Pro, it will still work on the console. This incredible deal won’t last forever, though. It ends on February 5th, meaning you’ll lose out on $63 in savings if you miss it.
Until February 5th, the PlayStation Store is offering a discount on Immortals of Aveum, a 2023 first-person shooter from Electronic Arts and Ascendant Studios. This game was Ascendant Studios’ first release, and unfortunately, it didn’t sell well. The studio had to lay off half of its staff as a result, though the game did gain a dedicated following when it launched.
2023 EA First-Person Shooter
Immortals of Aveum launched on August 22, 2023, and received mixed to average reviews from critics, with Metacritic scores ranging from 65 to 76 depending on the platform. Player reviews are generally similar, leaning slightly more positive. As of now, the game has a 3.46 out of 5 rating on the PlayStation Store based on over 12,000 reviews, and a 73% approval rating on Steam from more than 1,600 users.
In Immortals of Aveum, you play as Jak, a new battlemage tasked with saving a world facing destruction. To succeed, Jak needs to learn about Aveum’s complicated history and master three different types of magic, using powerful spells against challenging magical enemies. Unlike typical first-person shooters, this game focuses on magical combat, drawing inspiration from classic titles like Heretic and Hexen.
Okay, so I just finished this new AAA EA game on my PS5, and it took me anywhere from 14 to 21 hours to beat, depending on how much of everything I did and how I played. When I crunched the numbers, it worked out to about 33 to 50 cents per hour of gameplay, which isn’t bad, honestly.
Best Deal Yet
Right now is the best price you’ll find for Immortals of Aveum on the PlayStation Store. EA doesn’t often discount its games this deeply on PlayStation Network, so it’s unlikely to get any cheaper. Plus, the game is available as part of an EA Play subscription. And if you’re a PlayStation Plus member, you might already own it – it was a free game for all subscription tiers back in May 2024.
