Miss Kay is on the mend.
After enduring several tough months since her husband, Phil Robertson from Duck Dynasty fame, passed away due to Alzheimer’s on May 25 (aged 79), it appears that the star’s health has started showing signs of improvement.
Miss Kay’s son, Willie Robertson, shared in an interview with Fox News Digital on July 16 that his mother is significantly improving. He was astonished by her recovery, stating that she seemed to have made a remarkable turn after the passing of her partner Phil. As they had been together for over six decades, losing her lifelong companion undoubtedly took a toll on her, especially as she grows older.
He commented that his 77-year-old mother, who featured in the premiere of ‘Duck Dynasty: The Revival’, had faced some challenges but was clearly rebounding. He explained, ‘She attended church and seems to be going away this weekend for a trip. She’s becoming more active, even appearing on our show.’
Korie Robertson, Willie’s spouse, provided more details about Miss Kay’s current health situation and expressed joy over the fact that they are back to filming their reality series with her once more.
She mentioned that she has been part of some projects we’ve been shooting this week, and it’s been quite heartwarming, she added.
Korie emphasized, “Our program has a unique charm, you know. We cherish the fact that we can work alongside our family and enjoy those moments together. We get to hang out with Uncle Si a lot, which is always enjoyable, and having Kay around is great too. Yes, she’s growing older, and that brings its own challenges, but she’s doing very well these days.
The couple recently provided a heartening update on their grandmother to Rebecca, John Luke, Sadie, Bella, Will, and Rowdy, following around a month since Willie shared that Miss Kay, who is also the mother of Jase Robertson, Jep Robertson, and Alan Robertson alongside Phil, wasn’t in good health.
Kay isn’t doing too well health-wise,” the 53-year-old shared with USA Today in an interview on June 5. “We’re providing support and care for her as best we can.
“Some of it is she is just depressed,” Willie added. “She lost her partner of 60 years.”
Earlier this year, Miss Kay’s brother, Willie’s brother Jase, shared some additional details about her health issues.
He shared during the April episode of the Unashamed with the Robertson Family podcast that she had developed an infection from a fall on a previous cut, and they were facing the possibility that it might be a serious complication.

In the year 2020, Phil Robertson from “Duck Dynasty” learned that he had a daughter named Phyllis as a result of a past relationship. This discovery prompted him to reunite with his long-lost child and even take her on a duck hunting trip together.
In her Instagram post from November, Phyllis expressed gratitude for finally reuniting with someone after so many years, attributing it to divine intervention. She believes that God’s timing is impeccable, and each passing day and fresh encounter is a precious gift.
Reflecting back on my first duck hunting season, what an incredible experience it was! Exactly a year ago today, I embarked on a new chapter of my life – learning that paternity tests confirmed my father’s true identity. It’s been a rollercoaster ride with its ups and downs, but I am reminded that God uses all things for the good of those who love Him, as stated in Romans 8:28. Today, I am immensely grateful for this day and this special anniversary, which ended on such a positive note.
In 2021, Phil and his wife, known as “Miss Kay” Robertson, extended an invitation to Phyllis and her spouse for Easter celebrations with their family, which encompassed his brother Si Robertson as well.
Phil taught Phyllis how to make mayhaw jelly in May 2021.
Phyllis celebrated her first Father’s Day with Phil in 2021.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I recently shared on Instagram my heartwarming experience of learning to prepare crawfish au gratin from my dad. This Father’s Day dish was not only scrumptious but also incredibly meaningful as it marked the very first time we celebrated together.
Phyllis celebrated Christmas 2021 with Phil, Miss Kay, along with their grown children Al Robertson, Jase Robertson, Willie Robertson, and Jep Robertson.
The Robertson family went duck hunting in November 2022.
Phyllis summed up the 2022-23 duck hunting season in February 2022, spanning from northeastern Louisiana to southeastern Kansas. She shared her joy of being with her father, family, and friends, engaging in thoughtful conversations about faith, appreciating the beauty of nature, learning new abilities, contributing to a missions fundraiser, and spreading the Gospel. Not only that, but they also hunted and prepared waterfowl. All in all, she considered it a highly successful season.
In April 2023, Phil shared a message on Instagram expressing his wishes for a happy Easter filled with joy as he reflects upon the miracle of Jesus’ resurrection, his faith, and the anticipation of what lies ahead. May your journey echo ours – finding radiance and optimism in the risen Christ. Warmest Easter greetings from our family to yours!
