Harrison Ford, Jessica Williams, and Michael Urie’s Heartfelt Reactions to Their Emmy Nominations!

After two years on air, it seems that the Emmys have finally recognized Shrinking‘s exceptional quality. The comedy series, available exclusively through an Apple TV+ subscription, has garnered seven 2025 Emmy nominations this year. Among the nominees is Harrison Ford, who received his first-ever nod for his performance in the show. In addition to Ford, Jessica Williams, Michael Urie, and co-creator/star Jason Segel were also recognized for their outstanding performances, leading to much rejoicing. I must admit, receiving texts from Ford, Williams, and Urie congratulating the nominations really made my week.

While this is Williams’ second Emmy nomination for Shrinking, having previously been nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy in 2023, this is both Urie and Ford’s first. The Brian actor, who was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy, shared a sweet text on Instagram from fellow Outstanding Supporting Actor nominee Ford, and their enthusiasm is infectious:

Although they were both nominated in the same category, it’s apparent that they aren’t competing against each other. Instead, they appear to be genuine supporters, thrilled about being first-time nominees together. The heartwarming display of affection, celebration, and mutual care among them seems more rewarding than the nomination itself.

They are not the only ones celebrating, though. Williams was feeling as grateful as ever for her second nomination, sharing a heartfelt message on Instagram along with a series of photos that include a text from the Star Wars actor. I can’t decide what’s better: his text (which you can see below), the exclamation point next to his name, or the fact that the photo Williams has for his contact picture is of him eating at the SAG Awards:

This is a thrilling period for the Shrinking team, including cast members, staff, and supporters, and it’s heartwarming to witness the actors’ fervor regarding their Emmy nominations. It remains unclear what Williams responded when Ford texted him, but given his interaction with Urie, it wouldn’t be unexpected if his reply was along similar lines.

Given that all three contenders face tough rivals, it’s challenging to forecast who might take the victory. However, should one of them emerge victorious, their joy for each other is certain to remain unbounded. It’s also intriguing to observe how Ford and Urie handle being nominated in the same category, but based on their writings, there seems to be no animosity between them. In fact, they might find the competition for the same award quite enjoyable.

For the 2025 Emmy Awards, Shrinking has received seven nominations, but it’s unclear whether it will win any. Regardless, simply being nominated is a significant achievement in itself.
