Sony has put up the last PS Stars reward item, marking the start of the service’s gradual shutdown. Although the program will remain active until November 2026 for existing members, it ceased taking on new participants in May and there won’t be any more rewards or collectibles after next week.
The final item up for grabs is genuinely a PlayStation Star Token, carrying the message: “Though PlayStation Stars might be phasing out, your devotion and encouragement will remain etched in our memories. Thank you for three years filled with fantastic games, entertaining challenges, and thrilling Digital Collectibles! To acquire this token, simply play any game on PS5 or PS4.
The PS Stars program, initially announced for closure in May, has been confirmed to officially end on November 2nd, 2026. However, starting July 23rd, 2025, you won’t be able to earn collectibles, points, or level up any further as Sony is shifting its focus and learning from the activities that players enjoy most. They will be reallocating their resources after gaining insights into what type of activities resonate best with their player base.
The most significant advantage it offered was converting points into PS Store credit, which could be used to secure discounts on PS5 and PS4 games. Unfortunately, the service’s execution had persistent issues. It was only accessible via the PlayStation mobile app and never made available as a native feature on PS5 or PS4 consoles.
