King Charles III Gives Queen Camilla New Title Royal Title

King Charles III and Queen Camilla are making history together.

On July 16, a day preceding her 78th birthday, the monarch granted his wife the honorary title of Vice Admiral of the United Kingdom, as confirmed by the Royal Navy.

Camilla holds a unique title that has been bestowed upon her by the monarch at the recommendation of the present First Sea Lord, Sir Gwyn Jenkins.

As stated by Jenkins, Camilla’s new position is expected to strengthen the bond between her and the Royal Service.

In a statement on July 16th, he expressed his joy in extending a warm welcome to Queen Elizabeth II at HM Naval Base Devonport. He added that her visit had significantly lifted the spirits of everyone there and the honorary appointment was a testament to the deep respect we all hold for her majesty.

Indeed, Charles, aged 76, has conferred a royal title on Camilla before as well. Upon his ascension to the throne following Queen Elizabeth II’s passing in September 2022, he appointed Camilla as “Queen Consort,” a title England hasn’t seen for over eight decades, aligning with his mother’s last wishes.

The King granted a Royal Decree, planning to alter his wife’s title to “Queen Camilla,” in preparation for their shared coronation scheduled for May 2023.

On July 16, Charles wasn’t there to hand over Camilla her Vice Admiral of the U.K. appointment in person because he was hosting a gathering for youth activists, which included actor Idris Elba, at St. James’ Palace in London, simultaneously.

Working separately has been a common occurrence for this pair. In her interview with reporters in April, Camilla expressed it as, “We’re usually heading in different paths, like passing ships at night. We zip by each other quickly.

On January 22nd, Prince Harry, also known as the Duke of Sussex, came to an agreement with News Group Newspapers, a company that owns both The Sun and the now-defunct News of the World. This settlement followed a lawsuit he filed in 2019 against the organization, accusing their journalists and private investigators of illegal activities aimed at gathering information about the royal family.

The agreement involved the company providing “significant compensation,” along with a “sincere and unconditional apology” to Harry, and an open admission of “the extensive media attention and invasive infringement upon his personal life, as well as that of Princess Diana of Wales,” according to NBC News.

On January 14, it was announced by the Princess of Wales that she has achieved remission following her full course of cancer treatment.

She expressed her relief at being in remission and continued to prioritize her recovery, as she shared in a message posted on X (previously known as Twitter) on January 14. Anyone who’s gone through a cancer diagnosis can understand the need for time to adapt to this new phase of life.

She went on saying, “I’m quite excited for what promises to be a rewarding year to come.” Or alternatively, “She added, ‘I’m really looking forward to making the upcoming year a great one.’

In 2015, before marrying Prince Harry, the Duchess of Sussex grieved over the passing of her cherished rescue beagle, whom she had adopted prior to their relationship.

On January 7th, she posted on Instagram, “I’ve shed more tears than I can count – the kind that lead you to step into the shower, hoping the water streaming down your face might miraculously erase them or make them disappear. But they don’t. And that’s alright as well.
