Aura V reached a pitch perfect milestone at the 2026 Grammys.
She and her father, Fyütch, won a Grammy for Best Children’s Music Album with their album Harmony at the February 1st ceremony. This makes the 8-year-old the youngest person to ever win a Grammy as an individual artist.
Aura shared that making the album with her father was a really enjoyable experience. ‘It was great to spend quality time together,’ she told reporters at the Grammys. ‘We had fun going out to dinner and just relaxing.’
It seems natural for the young musician to create tunes. Fyütch, also known as Harold Simmons II, observed that his daughter “simply enjoys the playful side of music.”
But that’s not all. As Aura V interjected, “And the food.”
Aura isn’t just a talented dancer; she also has a great eye for fashion. She knew exactly what kind of dress she wanted for the event hosted by Trevor Noah.
She chose lavender because it felt calming and peaceful. “It helps me relax,” she said, “especially since the red carpet is already red – I didn’t want to blend in!”
She added, “I got to stand out.”
Eight-year-old Aura has become the youngest individual Grammy winner, surpassing Blue Ivy Carter, who previously held the record at age nine. Blue Ivy won for her featured appearance on the Best Music Video winner, “BROWN SKIN GIRL,” in 2021.
In their acceptance speech, Fyütch stressed the importance of music in children’s education.
He explained that children’s music isn’t just a type of music, but a purposeful effort by artists to teach, inspire, and help the next generation grow—and that’s the most important work we can do.
Aura, helped onto the microphone by her dad, thanked everyone for celebrating this important occasion.
She began by saying how honored she was to be there, and admitted she hadn’t anticipated they’d get this far.
