In 2026, id Software, the famous game developer, will celebrate its 35th anniversary, and it appears they have a special project planned for the occasion.
In a video shared on social media, studio and game directors Marty Stratton and Hugo Martin thanked id Software’s fans for their years of support, calling them the best in the world.
Martin says they couldn’t have achieved this without everyone’s support, and there’s plenty more to come, so people should keep an eye out for future updates.
I heard from Stratton that the developers are planning a year-long celebration for their anniversary! I’m really hoping that means we’ll see some awesome sales on their games, and maybe even a peek behind the curtain at how the studio works. I’m excited to see what they have in store!
However, are we likely to see an even more significant announcement soon? Considering id Software released DOOM: The Dark Ages last May, they are almost certainly already developing their next project.
I don’t think we’re gonna get a huge reveal of anything major anytime soon, but I’m still hoping they might revisit some of their older games with remasters or re-releases. They’ve got so much cool stuff from the past they could work with, you know?
