With its upcoming season, the popular HBO series The Last of Us may be coming to an end. Casey Bloys, head of HBO and HBO Max, recently suggested that the show, based on the acclaimed video game, could conclude its run after the next season.
When asked if the new season would be the last, Bloys suggested it likely was, but explained that the final decision rested with the show’s creators. He encouraged viewers to ask the showrunners directly for confirmation.
The second season of the show covered the first part of The Last of Us 2’s story, but season three will shift the focus to Abby and her determined quest for revenge for her father’s death.
If you’ve played the game, you already know how this storyline ends. For everyone else, you’ll be happy to hear that the live-action adaptation stays true to the original game and is nearing completion. However, it won’t be released this year.
