Fate of The Kelly Clarkson Show Revealed After Season 7

Kelly Clarkson is breaking away from her talk show.

Kelly Clarkson has announced that her talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, will conclude after its seventh season on NBC.

Kelly shared on X (formerly Twitter) on February 2nd that she feels incredibly lucky to have worked with the amazing team at TKCS, both in Los Angeles and New York. She expressed deep gratitude for the seven seasons filled with memorable moments and performances, praising the band, crew, and everyone involved as the best she could have hoped for. She also thanked the fans for their support and NBC for being a wonderful partner.

Let me tell you, making big life changes is never easy, but sometimes you have to prioritize what truly matters. I’ve decided to step back for a while to really focus on my kids, River, who’s eleven, and Remington, who’s nine. As a mom, they need me, and after my divorce from Brandon Blackstock, I want to be fully present for them during this chapter of our lives.

Kelly shared that she’s taking a step back from her regular schedule to focus on her children, saying it feels like the right thing to do right now. However, she hinted that this isn’t a permanent farewell to hosting. She plans to continue making music and performing occasionally, and fans might still see her as a guest on The Voice.

Regarding whether she’ll pass the Kellyoke microphone to her former NBC colleague Hoda Kotb, she previously stated that wasn’t her plan.

I’ll never forget what she said to Craig Melvin on Today! She was asked about potentially taking over Kelly’s show, and she paused, then asked us, the audience, a genuine question. She wanted to know if we really believed that if she ever returned to television, there was only one place she’d want to be – and she meant right there, on Today! She made it so clear that this show was her home.

To drive her point home, Hoda—who left Today in January2025—issued a swift, “Delete, not true.”

It feels like just yesterday I was watching Kelly Clarkson return for what turned out to be her last season premiere of her amazing talk show. It was a bittersweet moment, knowing it was the final chapter, but so wonderful to see her shine one last time!

River and Remington have been frequent guests on the show since it began in 2019. Whether performing with their mom or even taking on the role of producer for a day, Kelly’s children have become a beloved and charming part of the program.

The Grammy-winning artist recently revealed how she’s been supporting her children through the heartbreaking loss of her son, Brandon, who passed away in August 2025 after a long fight with cancer.

During an interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show’s YouTube channel, she talked about her children, ages 9 and 11. She described them as being at a sweet age – old enough to be independent with everyday tasks, but still young enough to enjoy cuddles and affection.

At the premiere on September 29th, Kelly shared that after six years, she’s realized the world can often feel overwhelming. She explained that her favorite part of her job has always been discovering and highlighting people who are working to improve things and bring positivity to the world.

Kelly Clarkson had a great season with some big celebrity guests, including Kate Hudson, Sterling K. Brown, and Sydney Sweeney. However, she’s said her most special guests have been her two children.

We’ve been going through a tough time as a family lately, so I’ve been letting my children sleep in my bed more often.

But she wouldn’t have it any other way.

She explained that it’s just her, her two kids, and her two dogs at home. It can be hectic, but she cherishes those moments, especially the sweet conversations they have. She considers that time of day her favorite.

Kelly is starting a fresh chapter, but it’s a great time to remember her most iconic moments. Here’s a look back at her career so far.
