GOG has always been a unique presence in the world of PC gaming. Though it hasn’t reached the same level of popularity as some other platforms, it’s carved out a dedicated following, and its commitment to preserving older games has become increasingly valuable.
GOG is committed to making sure classic PC games still run smoothly on modern computers, without requiring extra software or hardware. Right now, they’re giving away all three original Alone in the Dark games for free! You can claim them and keep them permanently until February 5th.
The Alone in the Dark Trilogy Is 100% Free for a Limited Time
First launched in 1992, Alone in the Dark was a hugely influential survival horror series. It essentially created the genre as we know it, leading directly to games like Resident Evil and even getting its own movie adaptation. Right now, GOG is giving away Alone in the Dark: The Trilogy 1+2+3, which includes all three classic games from the 1990s. Normally, the trilogy costs $12.98 and also comes with the bonus adventure, “Jack in the Dark.”
Derceto is a legendary Louisiana mansion haunted by a mysterious suicide, a terrifying curse, and a powerful evil. You’ll find yourself inexplicably drawn into its shadowy depths, forced to confront the disturbing imagination of Jeremy Hartwood.
Even though you feel deeply afraid, your determination to find the truth compels you to explore the old house. You have no idea that stepping inside will trap you in the terrifying reality Jeremy Hartwood lived every day. You weren’t ready for the agonizing screams echoing through the house, or the endless, dark hallways. You couldn’t have imagined the oppressive, shadowy rooms, the overwhelming sense of fear, and the palpable evil that saturates the house and everything within it.
If you’d known what this would be like, you probably wouldn’t have agreed to it. But you did accept, so now you’re on your own for this scary journey… and you’ll have to do it in complete darkness.
As a huge fan of classic games, I was so excited to see that the original Alone in the Dark games – the ones from ’92, ’93, and ’95 – are now playable on my PC thanks to the GOG Preservation Project! It’s amazing they’ve updated these old favorites. And it’s not just Alone in the Dark either – they’ve got a ton of games, with recent additions like Final Fantasy VIII Remastered, Final Fantasy IX, and Rayman 2. They’re up to 271 titles now, which is incredible!
Just saw details on a giveaway you might want to check out! If you miss out on winning, don’t worry – Alone in the Dark: The Trilogy 1+2+3 is on sale right now for only $10.81, which is a pretty sweet deal!
