Wolverine has fought many characters throughout the Marvel Universe, and while not all are his enemies, some have become rivals, especially those who debuted in his original comic books. Here’s a ranking of ten of Wolverine’s most formidable first foes, based on their power.

10) Doctor Cornelius

The “Weapon X” storyline is a classic Wolverine tale, famous for introducing a key antagonist. Abraham Cornelius led the Weapon X program and was instrumental in turning Logan into the powerful, animalistic fighter he is today. He’s a powerhouse – we’re talking super strength and a body heavily reinforced with adamantium, making him a physical match for Logan.
