With the February 12th launch of Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties approaching, Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have added the earlier title, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, to Xbox Game Pass. Players with a Game Pass Premium subscription—which costs $14.99 a month and offers access to over 200 games—can now play the standard edition on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii continues the story of Goro Majima after the events of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Released in February 2025, it’s been available for a year now, making it a good fit for our Premium subscription tier. For those who want even more, our Ultimate tier—at $29.99 a month—includes over 400 games and guarantees day-one access to new releases.
Following up on Infinite Wealth, Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii returns to the same location: Honolulu. Before the game launched, producer Hiroyuki Sakamoto stated that the entire island would be explorable, just like in the previous game.
In Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, the story begins with Goro Majima washing up on a beach, severely injured and with no memory of his past. As he tries to piece together what happened, he encounters a cast of new allies and enemies, and quickly becomes caught up in a bizarre mystery involving contemporary pirates.
Sega and RGG Studio just dropped a new trailer for Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties, highlighting its upcoming release on Steam. The trailer showed off features like Steam Trading Cards, customizable graphics settings (including frame generation and support for high frame rates and ultrawide monitors), and confirmation that the game will work well on the Steam Deck.
Both Yakuza Kiwami 3 and its expansion, Dark Ties, are heading to PC, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. A demo is now available, letting players experience the game as both Kazuma Kiryu and Yoshitaka Mine. Kiryu’s portion takes place in Okinawa, while Mine’s returns to Kamurocho. The demo showcases Kiryu’s Dragon of Dojima and Ryukyu combat styles, as well as Mine’s unique shoot-boxing style.
