The search for Nancy Guthrie continues.
Investigators are still looking into the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s mother. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has stated that they discovered DNA evidence inside her home, which is now being treated as a crime scene.
We collected samples and are hoping they contain enough DNA to help us identify what we’re looking for, he told NBC News in a report on Today on February 3rd.
Nancy Guthrie, mother to Annie, Camron, and Savannah, was last seen by her family around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 31st. When she didn’t attend church the next morning, a friend alerted her family. After searching her property for about an hour, her children contacted the authorities and reported her missing around noon on Sunday.
Since then, Sheriff Nanos has stated the police believe 80-year-old Nancy was likely kidnapped. He confirmed she isn’t experiencing cognitive decline, but her health issues would have made it impossible for her to leave by herself.
During a press conference on February 2nd, he stated, “We are certain she didn’t simply leave by herself. Evidence at the location suggests she did not leave voluntarily.”
The sheriff emphasized that Nancy needs daily medication and doesn’t currently have it, which could be life-threatening if she isn’t located quickly.

I’ve been following the news about Nancy’s disappearance, and I want to reassure everyone in the community. So far, there’s absolutely no sign that the public is at risk, and authorities don’t believe there’s any ongoing danger to us all. That’s a huge relief, and I’ll continue to share updates as I get them.
He also stated that officials have been in touch with Savannah, who hasn’t been on Today since Nancy went missing, and with her security personnel.
When asked if the Today show anchor had received any threats, the sheriff wouldn’t say, but confirmed they weren’t ruling anything out.

While the authorities continue searching for Nancy, Savannah asked for help from the public.
On February 2nd, a 54-year-old posted a message on Instagram asking for prayers. She wrote that she appreciated people keeping her mother, Nancy, in their thoughts – describing her as a woman of strong beliefs and a devoted person.
Savannah continued, asking for everyone to pray for her and truly believe those prayers will help right now. She emphasized they need support and asked people to help bring her loved one home.

Savannah Guthrie was born in Melbourne, Australia, the youngest of three children. Her father, Charles Guthrie, was working there temporarily, and the family later moved to Tucson, Arizona, when she was two years old.
The Today show anchor was just 16 years old when her father passed away from a heart attack in 1988. She’s often spoken fondly of him since, including in 2014 when she was pregnant with her first child with her husband, Mike Feldman.
Savannah described her father as a man of surprising contrasts. He was strong and could be intimidating, but also incredibly loyal, and surprisingly gentle and loving when it mattered most. People often said he had a warm, infectious personality that brightened up any space. He was also tall, affectionate, and had a great sense of humor.
She hoped their child would inherit not only Mike’s sense of humor, calm nature, and generosity, but also the honesty and strong moral compass of her own father, who had passed away.

Savannah stayed close to her mother, Nancy, even while attending law school at Georgetown and moving for work to Washington, D.C. and then New York. Nancy has lived in Arizona for over 50 years.
Savannah described her mother, Nancy, as an incredible and admirable person when Nancy turned 70 in 2012. She told Today.com that her mom inspires everyone she meets, possessing a sharp mind, a great sense of humor, and strong moral character. Nancy is also adventurous and always eager to try new things.
In 2015, Savannah took Nancy to Australia, showing her the hospital room where the renowned NBC News journalist was born and their childhood home in Beaumaris.
Nancy shared on Today that she hadn’t expected to return to Australia. She described the trip overall as “wonderful.”
Honestly, I’m still amazed we pulled this off in just three days! Nancy said it herself, and Savannah totally agreed – we really crammed a ton of stuff in, and it was incredible.

Savannah enjoyed watching her mother with her own children, telling Hoda Kotb on Today in 2018 that it was a deeply meaningful experience. She realized she was finally seeing the kind of mother her own mom had been with her, appreciating the simple, everyday moments of joy.
She was impressed with Nancy’s ability to connect with the children. She realized she admired Nancy even more than before, appreciating her lively personality and unique qualities.
In 2022, when Nancy celebrated her 80th birthday, Savannah honored her mother on the air, describing her as brave and adventurous. She explained that Nancy faced incredible hardships with strength, without complaining, and with unwavering determination and faith. Savannah shared that her mother’s fierce love for her family, along with her selflessness, dedication, and strong belief in them, is what inspired each of them to achieve their goals.

Nancy was reported missing on February 1, 2026, after she was last seen at her home in Tucson the previous night.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos announced at a news conference that investigators were examining the 84-year-old woman’s home as a potential crime scene. He also stated that while she was mentally alert, she wasn’t physically well.
Savannah, speaking on February 2nd, shared a statement saying her family appreciates all the support, thoughts, and prayers they’ve received. Their main priority is bringing Nancy home safely.
As someone who always prioritizes community well-being, I want to express my gratitude to our law enforcement for their dedication to this case. And if anyone out there has anything that might help, please reach out to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department – every little bit can make a difference.

Savannah’s brother, Camron, is a former military pilot who prefers to keep to himself. However, he appeared in photos on her Instagram account when she celebrated her 50th birthday in 2021.
Savannah shared a heartfelt message on December 27th, celebrating 50 years with her husband, whom she lovingly calls her treasure. She also expressed her love for her children, calling them her ‘darling angel babies,’ and acknowledged the three who were with her at the start of it all – her mother, Cam, and Annie.

Savannah and Annie are very close, and Annie has been a frequent guest on Today ever since Savannah began co-hosting in 2012.
Savannah described her sister, Annie, as essential to her life, saying, “She’s always been there for me, my whole life.” She shared this during a 2017 discussion about the strong connection she and Hoda have with their siblings.
Annie said they were “like the sun and the moon.”
“Her sorrows are my sorrows,” Annie explained, “and her successes are my successes.”
Savannah described herself as outgoing and quick to speak, but she saw Annie as someone who was more considerate and took time to think things through.

After her marriage to Mark Orchard ended in divorce in 2009—following four years together—Savannah found love again with Michael Feldman, who works as a communications consultant.
The couple got married in Tucson on March 15, 2014. Just two days later, Savannah announced she was expecting their first child, although wedding guests had already heard the happy news during the celebration.
She expressed feeling fantastic and was thrilled to share the news on her return to Today on March 17th, explaining she was finally comfortable enough to stop trying to hide her stomach.

Savannah and Mike welcomed daughter Vale on Aug. 13, 2014.
The Today show host described the baby as having blue eyes, a touch of blond hair, and wonderfully chubby cheeks.
When Savannah was expecting, she shared on her blog that she and her husband liked unique baby names, describing them as a great way to start conversations.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always fascinated by baby names! But beyond trends, there’s something truly special about honoring loved ones. Savannah and Mike chose to name their son, born December 8th, 2016, after Savannah’s father, who sadly passed away – a beautiful way to keep his memory alive.
The mother of two shared in a video on Today a few days after Charles was born that she and Vale were overjoyed with his arrival, and it was a huge relief.
Savannah has spoken openly about the difficulties she faced trying to have another child, and she calls her son, Charley, a “medical miracle.”
In a 2018 interview on Today, Savannah shared her parenting philosophy: she believes the most important thing she can do for her children, Vale and Charley, is to focus on her own personal growth. She explained that being a parent means being truly authentic, as there’s no hiding who you are at home, so it’s essential to do inner work and strive to be your best self.
