Keanu Reeves’ New Star-Studded Apple TV Comedy Outcome Officially Unveils First Look & Release Date

Keanu Reeves is best known for playing the intense John Wick in the John Wick movies. But he frequently takes on roles in different genres, and his next project is the darkly comedic film Outcome, which features a talented ensemble cast.

Announced in April 2023 with Jonah Hill starring and directing, the dark comedy series has finally revealed its first look. Keanu Reeves joined the project after initial discussions, with confirmation arriving in January 2024. Apple TV officially unveiled the footage during their press event, confirming that Outcome will premiere on April 10th.

The new dark comedy, Outcome, follows Reef Hawk, a famous actor, as he’s forced to confront his personal struggles when a damaging video is used to blackmail him, threatening to ruin his reputation and career.

Reef, determined to uncover who’s blackmailing him, sets out on a journey of self-reflection and reconciliation. He’s joined by his close friends, Kyle and Xander, and receives legal guidance from his lawyer, Ira, as he tries to make things right with people from his past.

Jonah Hill, who co-wrote and directed the film, offers a fresh perspective on Reef’s journey – a deeply personal and emotional return to the past. Facing his history might be the key to Reef finding a path forward.

I’m really excited about this one! Keanu Reeves is taking the lead as Reef Hawk in Outcome, and he’s joined by a fantastic cast. Matt Bomer and Hill are also key players, but honestly, the supporting cast is incredible – we’re talking Martin Scorsese, Susan Lucci, Laverne Cox, David Spade, Atsuko Okatsuka, Roy Wood Jr., Kaia Gerber, Ivy Wolk, and a whole lot more talent. It’s shaping up to be a must-see!

The film Outcome, from Apple Studios, was written by Hill and Ezra Woods. Matt Dines, Ali Goodwin, and Hill produced it through their company, Strong Baby, with Adam Merims as executive producer.

Keanu Reeves Starred in Another Hit Comedy in 2025

Keanu Reeves, known for his roles in action films like The Matrix and the John Wick series, has also explored comedy. He’s scheduled to appear in a comedy film in 2025, details of which are currently unreleased.

This new comedy is being called a modern take on Freaky Friday, and it marks the directorial debut of Aziz Ansari, known for his role in Parks and Recreation. Ansari also stars alongside Seth Rogen, Keke Palmer, and Sandra Oh in the story of an unlikely pair: a person barely making ends meet and a wealthy billionaire. Their lives get even more complicated when a clumsy angel starts interfering.

In the movie Good Fortune, Keanu Reeves plays Gabriel, an angel who tries to teach two men (played by Aziz Ansari and Seth Rogen) a lesson about the importance of things other than money. He swaps their bodies, but the plan backfires, causing a lot of trouble and ultimately costing Gabriel his wings. The film follows his attempts to fix the mess he’s created.

Critics generally liked the comedy, giving it a ‘Certified Fresh’ rating of 78% on Rotten Tomatoes, while audiences scored it even higher at 80%. However, despite the good reviews, the movie didn’t sell many tickets.

Despite a disappointing theatrical run – earning just $26 million at the box office with a $30 million budget – Good Fortune is finding success with digital sales. It currently ranks third in Poland and Australia on Amazon, and third in Ecuador, with fourth-place rankings in Austria and Colombia on iTunes.

Outcome premieres on Apple TV on Apr. 10 on Apple TV.
