Jesy Nelson Confirms Zion Foster Breakup Amid Twins’ Health Battle

Jesy Nelson is giving a shoutout to her ex.

Following the news that her and Zion Foster’s eight-month-old daughters, Ocean Jade and Story Monroe, have Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1 (SMA), Perrie Edwards has spoken about the couple’s decision to separate on good terms.

Because both of us went through something traumatic, the dynamic between us wasn’t working, and that’s completely understandable.

She explained that they remain friends and are committed to raising their daughters together, emphasizing that their children are their top priority and they’re focused on being the best parents they can be.

The split comes four months after the pair announced their engagement.

Jesy and her boyfriend, Zion, 27, shared a romantic photo on Instagram on September 26th. The picture shows them hugging on a beach at sunset, with Zion kissing her cheek. Jesy, who is a mother of two, was smiling and showing off a new ring on her finger.

Despite her young children’s continuing health struggles, the winner of season eight of The X Factor is taking things one day at a time.

Honestly, things are just…day by day for me right now. With everything happening with my girls and their diagnosis, that’s really all I can focus on. If I even try to think too far ahead, I get completely overwhelmed. It’s like, I have to stay present, or I’ll lose it. It’s so hard, but I’m trying my best to just take things as they come.

Jesy shared that her children, who have a genetic condition causing significant muscle weakness, are doing okay despite their challenges.

She added, “The girls are doing really well and they’re happy, that’s all I can really ask for.”

Despite knowing how her muscle disease might impact her children, she remains optimistic that they will have wonderful lives.

She shared that doctors initially believed her children might never walk or regain neck strength, and would likely need wheelchairs. However, she remains optimistic, pointing to other families who have defied similar predictions and seen their children achieve amazing things. She’s determined to believe that outcome is possible for her children as well.
