This story contains spoilers for the first half of Bridgerton season four.
Dearest gentle reader, how closely were you watching Bridgerton?
Fans noticed a small detail in the first episode of season four, which premiered on January 29th: Katie Leung, who plays Araminta, had a flesh-colored Band-Aid on her left ear, seemingly to cover a cartilage piercing. This appears to be an editing oversight.
Someone noticed a historical inaccuracy in the show and pointed it out on TikTok, asking, “Band-aids? Really? The fans want answers!”
Someone else commented, hoping they’d styled it with a more noticeable accessory, like a decorative ear cuff.
Even though the bandage was tiny, other people spotted it as well. One TikTok user even commented, “Wait, I wasn’t imagining things when I saw that?”
Katie wasn’t the only one with a visible earring mistake on the show. Another viewer mentioned seeing a post about an actress’s cartilage piercing that wasn’t hidden or removed during a scene – apparently, it was at the garden party – and people noticed and were talking about it.

Neither Katie nor Netflix has addressed the mistake, but Katie recently discussed her experience playing Araminta, a character who discovers her new husband, the Earl of Penwood, has an illegitimate daughter – Sophie – after they get married.
I easily understood her motivations, especially since we already knew her history,” she told Deadline in January. “I didn’t have to create a backstory – we could just act it out and see what happened, which was great.
As someone who keeps a close eye on all the drama, let me tell you, Araminta is the reason Sophie and Benedict Bridgerton are currently apart. Katie let us in on that little secret! She described Araminta as a truly powerful and dominating force – definitely someone you don’t want to cross!

Even so, Katie worked hard to portray the character with depth and nuance, avoiding a stereotypical, purely villainous depiction. This was important because the season draws inspiration from Julia Quinn’s novel, An Offer From a Gentleman, which itself is a modern take on the Cinderella story.
She has a hidden depth, and the show reveals the pain she’s been through, particularly after being betrayed. Those experiences are truly formative, and it’s a gift as an actor to be able to explore that kind of emotional journey with a character. I felt fortunate to have that opportunity while playing Araminta.

While filming, Luke Thompson (Benedict Bridgerton) and Claudia Jessie (Eloise Bridgerton) passed the time by playing a clapping game.

Nicola Coughlan, who plays Penelope Featherington, and her co-star Eloise (also Penelope Featherington) seemed very friendly and happy while filming, suggesting a close bond between the two actresses.

While filming on a cold day, Hannah Dodd (who plays Francesca Bridgerton) had some fun making silly faces with Claudia.

Victor Alli, who plays John Stirling, recently shared a humorous story about what happened while filming season four of Bridgerton.

Even when it rained during filming, the actors – including newcomers Yerin Ha as Sophie, Katie Leung as Lady Araminta Gun, Michelle Mao as Rosamund Li, and Isabella Wei as Posy Li – were prepared with umbrellas.

There were clearly no ruff moments behind the scenes.

The actors smiled for the cameras while staying warm on set, where they’re filming a romance between characters named Benedict and Sophie.
