Muppet Performers & Characters
Matt Vogel As Kermit The Frog
- Active Since: 1996
Matt Vogel is the third actor to play Kermit the Frog. Jim Henson, the creator of the Muppets, originally voiced Kermit until he passed away in 1990. Steve Whitmire then took on the role until 2016. In addition to Kermit, Vogel also performs as other popular Muppets, such as Uncle Deadly, who appeared in the 2011 Muppets movie starring Jason Segel.
Eric Jacobson As Miss Piggy

When Frank Oz retired from performing Muppet characters, Eric Jacobson bravely stepped into the challenging role of Miss Piggy, becoming the iconic diva’s new voice. He didn’t stop there – since 2001, Jacobson has also voiced Fozzie Bear and the energetic Animal. Before taking on these famous Muppets, he had already lent his voice to beloved characters on Sesame Street, including Bert and Grover.
Dave Goel As Gonzo
Active Since: 1974
As a huge Muppet fan, I’ve always been amazed by Dave Goelz. He’s a true legend at The Jim Henson Company! He actually created so many of the characters we all love, and Gonzo the Great is probably his most famous. It’s incredible to me that he’s been involved with the Muppets for so long, connecting the original Muppet Show all the way to this new special coming out in 2026 – he really helps keep the magic alive across the years.
