Sonic the Hedgehog is consistently ready to team up with his pals, yet some associates are more dependable than others. Friends like Tails and Knuckles are those Sonic can rely upon in a pinch, but Sonic’s followers know that there are numerous other characters roaming around in this expansive universe. The hybrid Sonic the Hedgehog films have been blockbuster hits, but the speedy blue character’s escapades persist in video games and comics too. IDW Publishing has been the platform for Sonic comic books, and the upcoming issue, due in late July, introduces a duo of characters that leave Sonic questioning whether they are assisting or simply causing more complications.
In the upcoming issue #80 of Sonic the Hedgehog, penned by Ian Flynn, Aaron Hammerstrom, Matt Froese, Valentina Pinto, and Ed Dukeshire, readers will be transported to the Rainstorm Forest. Here, Sonic and the Chaotix Detective Agency (Vector the Crocodile, Espio the Chameleon, and Charmy Bee) engage in a battle against Restoration HQ’s destructive robot. As the robot seems poised to gain the upper hand, Shadow and Rouge make their entrance to quell the situation. Although their intervention is appreciated, Vector harbors doubts about their genuine intentions.
In a recent turn of events, it was uncovered that Sweeps Inc. was masking illegal activities such as weapons manufacturing and pollution. This prompted Rouge’s hiring to investigate if there were any other shady dealings. However, Charmy inadvertently disclosed that Vector and Espio had been apprehended, which didn’t sit well with Vector. Meanwhile, Sonic inquired whether Shadow was assisting Rouge or simply enjoyed battling robots during rainstorms. The Team Chaotix once more expressed their disappointment at not being hired for this task, but as danger loomed off-screen, our glimpse into Sonic the Hedgehog #80 concluded.
In issue #80 of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic and the Chaotix are battling menacing robots, but suddenly there’s an unexpected appearance by Shadow and Rouge! The story unfolds as they team up to uncover Dr. Eggman’s latest scheme, which leads them to a hidden rain-soaked base filled with dangerous machinery. As the tension escalates, they question if they will discover what they seek or if they have fallen into another one of Eggman’s traps.
Not only that, but things take an unexpected turn when Shadow and Rouge appear. Our heroes are left questioning if they’ve come to help or add to the growing challenges our heroes face instead.
