Silent Hill: Townfall is Konami’s “Brand-New Title” in the Series, But A Release Date Remains Illusive

Back in 2022, Konami revealed several new Silent Hill games, but Silent Hill: Townfall has been the quietest of the bunch. Recently, Konami shared a small update in its financial report covering the first nine months of fiscal year 2025, though it’s not the detailed information fans were hoping for.

We’re continuing to build on our work with the Silent Hill franchise and are excited to announce we’re creating a new Silent Hill game, alongside a complete remake of the original Silent Hill.

It initially seemed like Konami was about to announce a brand new Silent Hill game. However, they’ve clarified to Gematsu that they were actually talking about Silent Hill: Townfall. This is positive news, as it confirms the project is still in development, though we still don’t know when it will be released. That recent online listing that appeared briefly was likely just an error.

Townfall is a new game from Screen Burn Interactive, the team behind Stories Untold, and is published by Annapurna Interactive. Details are scarce, but it’s being built with Unreal Engine 5 – the same engine powering the Silent Hill 2 remake. It’s reportedly planned as part of a larger series, with other independent developers creating future installments.

Konami might be holding off on announcements about these releases as part of a larger plan to promote Townfall. Alternatively, they could be preparing a reveal later this year, so it’s worth waiting to see. The game is still confirmed to be in development, but we’ll have to wait and see if it comes out this year or next.
