Olympics 2026: Shaun White, Usher and More Celebrity Sightings

This might be the only time these A-listers count as B-team.

I’m so excited for the 2026 Olympics in Milano Cortina! Usually, I’d be following celebrities like Usher and Stanley Tucci, but this time, all my attention is on Team USA and their incredible quest for gold. It’s going to be amazing to watch them compete!

The team features established stars like Mikaela Shiffrin, Alex Hall, Lindsey Vonn, Chloe Kim, and Alex Ferreira, alongside promising newcomers such as Alysa Liu, Ilia Malinin, and Mary Bocock, all hoping to make their mark at the Olympics.

Despite the scaled-back event, the Opening Ceremony on February 6th was still filled with stars as the Games officially began in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo. Events will also be held in Valtellina and Val di Fiemme throughout the Games.

Mariah Carey kicked off the celebrations with a performance of “Volare” in Italian, and she sparkled while doing so – she was wearing a $15 million necklace from LEVUMA High Jewellery.

Snowboarding legend Shaun White teamed up with NBC commentators Terry Gannon and Mary Carillo to host the event. Carillo stepped in to replace Savannah Guthrie, who was dealing with a family emergency involving her mother.

Michelle Yeoh from Wicked, along with Jeff Goldblum, Maggie Rogers, Marisa Tomei, and Katherine LaNasa, were also in Milan to attend the Opening Ceremony.

Even though Taylor Swift wasn’t able to travel to Italy to support Team USA in person, she sent a heartfelt message to the American athletes before the event began.

She expressed her gratitude on NBC’s broadcast, saying she was deeply inspired by the stories of those she met and everything they’d overcome to achieve their success. She thanked them for their dedication, hard work, and passion, and for sharing their journeys with everyone.

As a huge fan, it meant so much to me when they said they hoped we all had a safe and amazing time. They really hit the nail on the head – I know this is a memory I’ll treasure forever.
