Unlike investors chasing the two crowned princes of crypto-spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs-Ripple ETF fans stroll through this market crash with the swagger of a vaudeville chorus line: unfazed, unflustered, and certain the show must go on.
Data from SoSoValue shows the past week ended in the green for Ripple ETFs, even as XRP itself was busy auditioning for a role in a disaster movie.
XRP ETFs Keep Gaining
Remember that the previous business week ended in the red for XRP funds because of a single trading day-January 29-when investors pulled out nearly $93 million, the worst net flows since these products debuted on stage. The data on Monday showed a minor outflow of just over $400,000, negligible given that the whole market crumbled that weekend.
However, XRP ETF investors started putting funds back into the vehicles, with $19.46 million on Tuesday, $4.83 million on Wednesday, and $15.16 million on Friday, according to SoSoValue. Thursday data is mysteriously missing on the site, but other sources still show a tiny net inflow.
Additionally, the cumulative net inflows for the spot XRP ETFs have grown from $1.18 billion at the end of the previous business week to $1.22 billion as of February 6, a gain of about $40 million.
The spot ETH ETFs bled out around $170 million, while BTC ETF counterparts were down by $358 million in the same timeframe.
XRP Price Goes Nuts
The past week has been a rollercoaster for crypto, and XRP has been the frontman. Last Saturday, it slid from 1.75 to 1.50, a slide that stung more because it had traded at 2.40 on January 6.
But the bears weren’t done-there were a few more leg downs, culminating in a plunge to 1.11 (Bitstamp) on Friday morning. That’s a drop of over 50% in a month.
Then came the bounce. In a matter of hours, the asset jumped about 40% to 1.54, only to be knocked back and now hovering around 1.40. The data show ETF investors aren’t driving these swings-XRP is doing its own chaos routine.
