Predicting When the Spider-Man: Brand New Day Trailer Will Release

Marvel fans have been eagerly waiting for the first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day for a couple of months. The movie is scheduled to come out at the end of July, and many expected the marketing campaign to have started by now. This expectation grew after parts of the trailer appeared online back in December 2025, suggesting a release was close. However, it’s now February 2026, and we still haven’t seen it.

The marketing for this movie is very different from how Marvel promoted Avengers: Doomsday. That film, which isn’t out until December, already had four teaser trailers shown in theaters for a week each, alongside Avatar: Fire & Ash, before being released online. This makes people wonder when we’ll see the trailer for Brand New Day, and if it will appear during the Super Bowl.

Why Isn’t The Spider-Man: Brand New Day Trailer Releasing During The Super Bowl?

Fans started hoping for a trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day after several weeks passed without one, turning their attention to the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl is a major event known for debuting movie trailers to a huge audience. However, reports now indicate that neither Brand New Day nor Avengers: Doomsday will have trailers released during Super Bowl 2026.

Although it’s a letdown (unless something unexpected happens), it’s not entirely surprising. Super Bowl commercials are incredibly expensive—some reportedly cost as much as $10 million this year. Considering Spider-Man: Brand New Day is almost certain to be a blockbuster, it makes you wonder if that level of advertising spending was really needed.

Sony doesn’t usually advertise during the Super Bowl, and that’s consistent with their overall strategy. In the last ten years, they’ve only released major trailers during the game for a couple of films – 65 (2023) and Life (2017) – and those ads didn’t really deliver a strong return on investment. The last time a Spider-Man movie was advertised during the Super Bowl was for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, so it’s not surprising they’re skipping it this year.

When Will The Spider-Man: Brand New Day Trailer Be Released?

Although the trailer might not appear during the Super Bowl, it’s likely to be released soon. Sony, the studio distributing the animated movie Spider-Man: Brand New Day, has another film, Goat, coming out on February 13th. Brand New Day is their next big release. It would make sense for Sony to promote their own movie with a trailer – something studios often do – and take advantage of the Valentine’s Day and President’s Day holiday weekend. Releasing the trailer the week after the Super Bowl, while everyone is still talking about the game, would be a smart move.

Predicting when the trailer will arrive gets trickier after this point, and it might be released somewhat randomly. One possibility is before Pixar’s Hoppers comes out on March 6th. Another potential release window is later in March, on the 20th, with Project Hail Mary, which is expected to be a critical and commercial success. Alternatively, they could wait until April and debut it alongside The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which is predicted to be a massive box office hit and would guarantee a huge audience for the trailer. However, a trailer for a Spider-Man movie will generate excitement no matter when it’s released.

Both Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home released their first trailers around July, before their releases (the Homecoming trailer came out in December, and the Far From Home trailer in January). However, Spider-Man: No Way Home took a different approach. Sony intentionally held back the trailer, knowing fans were already widely speculating about the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. The first trailer finally arrived in August 2021, months before the film’s December release, and it successfully built excitement.

The film’s huge success – earning $1.9 billion – clearly proves this strategy works, and explains why Sony is taking its time releasing the trailer, building anticipation. The trailer was released 116 days before the movie, and if they repeat that timing, we might see the new trailer around April 6th, 2026. Considering the Mario movie came out on April 1st, many fans are wondering if the Brand New Day trailer will finally be revealed on April Fool’s Day. It would be a risky move, but a pretty amusing one.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day releases in theaters on July 31st, 2026.
