Savannah Guthrie is issuing a new plea for her mom Nancy Guthrie’s safe return.
The search is still on for the 84-year-old woman, and the Today show anchor has responded to what seems to be a message from those who may be holding her mother. She was joined by her siblings, Camron and Annie Guthrie, when she shared the response.
In a video posted on Instagram on February 7th, Savannah, holding hands with Camron and Annie, acknowledged receiving messages and pleaded for their mother’s return. They stated that having her back is the only thing that will bring them peace and allow them to celebrate with her.
“This is very valuable to us,” the 54-year-old continued, “and we will pay.”
Camron said his family hadn’t received any communication from the people who might have taken Nancy since she was reported missing on February 1st.
In a video posted to Instagram on February 5th, he pleaded with whoever was holding their mother to make contact. “We haven’t received any direct communication,” he said, “and we need to establish a way to communicate so we can resolve this situation.”
She added, “First, we need to confirm you have our mother. We’d like to speak with you and are waiting for you to reach out.”
Before Camron spoke out, his siblings had already released a heartfelt statement about their mother going missing from her home in Arizona. They confirmed reports from TMZ and other news sources regarding a ransom demand.
In a video posted on Instagram on February 4th, Savannah shared that her family is doing everything possible to resolve the situation. They are willing to talk, but they need absolute confirmation that the person they’re looking for is still alive and in the possession of whoever has her, given how easily things can be altered or misrepresented these days.

Police say 84-year-old Joan Guthrie, mother to Annie, Camron, and Savannah Guthrie, was last seen at her home in Tucson, Arizona, around 9:30 p.m. on January 31st.

Police confirmed to Today that Nancy, 84, was reported missing by her family on February 1st. A friend became worried when Nancy didn’t attend church that morning and alerted her family. After searching her property for about an hour, her children contacted authorities and reported her missing around noon.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos later explained the first steps taken in the investigation, which involved detectives specializing in homicides, at the victim’s home.
We don’t usually involve the sheriff in situations like this, but the details emerging from the house are deeply troubling,” he explained to reporters on February 2nd. “This case was particularly unusual based on what officers described and what we discovered at the scene.
It was definitely unusual, as Detective Nanos explained. Normally, our homicide team only gets involved when there’s a body, a confirmed homicide. But in this case, they were called out solely based on what the land surveyors had reported – it wasn’t a typical situation at all, and I, as a long-time follower of the department, found it incredibly intriguing.

After looking into what happened, officials stated they think a crime occurred at Nancy’s house.
During a press conference on February 2nd, Nanos stated that investigators now believe they have confirmed a crime scene after processing the location. He appealed to the public for assistance, noting the community has a history of helping to solve difficult cases and he hoped they would do so again.
I just can’t get over it. The sheriff kept talking about how Nancy couldn’t even walk 50 yards on her own. It just…it doesn’t add up! It’s like he was saying something wasn’t right, that she couldn’t have just wandered off. It feels like he’s hinting that someone did something to her, that this wasn’t just a simple disappearance. It’s terrifying, but that detail…it really makes you think something awful happened.
He stated definitively that she didn’t simply leave on her own. He explained that evidence at the location suggests she didn’t leave voluntarily.

The search for Nancy is still ongoing, and officials are concerned because she needs daily medication to stay healthy, and she likely doesn’t have it with her.
During the February 2nd press conference, Nanos explained that an 84-year-old woman is facing health problems and urgently needs medication. Without it within 24 hours, her condition could become life-threatening.
We’re asking anyone with information about this – if you’ve seen or heard anything, please get in touch. Call 911. We want to avoid another tragedy and really need the public’s help.
You know, I’ve been following Nancy’s health journey, and while her body has presented some challenges for a while now, it’s really wonderful to see just how sharp and engaged she still is mentally. Her mind is truly remarkable – she’s incredibly quick and alert.
Okay, so Dr. Nanos just told me the most amazing thing about Nancy Guthrie! He said she’s completely with it, her mind is so sharp – it’s definitely not dementia. Seriously, he emphasized that! The family is desperate for everyone to understand she didn’t just wander off because she’s confused. It’s just… she’s getting older, and that’s impacting what her body can do, not her mind. It’s such a relief to hear, honestly. She’s still Nancy!
With the search for Nancy still underway, Nanos expressed his wish for her to come home safely.
“I hope we find her safe and sound,” he emphasized, “but we cannot ignore what’s in front of us.”

The day after Nancy was reported missing, the anchor of the Today show publicly shared how difficult this time is for her family.
In a statement to NBC’s morning show on February 2nd, she expressed her family’s gratitude for all the support, prayers, and kind messages they’ve received. Their main priority right now is bringing Nancy home safely.
She expressed gratitude to law enforcement for their efforts in the investigation and asked anyone with relevant information to reach out to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.

Once Savannah Guthrie learned her mother, Nancy, had been reported missing, her colleagues on the Today show immediately voiced their support publicly.
Jenna Bush Hager shared on the February 2nd episode of Today with Jenna & Sheinelle that she is personally close to Nancy and expressed her affection for her.
She continued, saying they were keeping Savannah and her family in their thoughts and sending their prayers to everyone affected.
Meanwhile, Sheinelle Jones emphasized the importance of community during this difficult time.
Honestly, when she said that, I nearly lost it! It was the moment, you know? Like, this is what being a fan is all about! She was basically saying we, us, are at our strongest when we all pitch in. And the way she asked everyone to call the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, even with the tiniest little detail? It was perfect! It felt like she really believed in us, and that any little thing we knew could help. I immediately grabbed my phone, of course!
She added, “So we’re sending our prayers but we’re also sending our collective action.”
Before concluding the segment, both hosts continued, “We love you, Savannah.”

And Sunday Today anchor Willie Geist also urged fans to keep an eye out for Nancy.
On February 2nd, he posted on Instagram asking anyone with information about the whereabouts of Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy, to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department in Arizona. He also included the sheriff’s department’s phone number, stating that she was missing.
Savannah’s former colleague, Hoda Kotb, also responded to the surprising news by sharing a heartwarming photo of Savannah and Nancy together on the Today show set. In a simple Instagram post on February 2nd, Hoda included only a red heart and praying hands emoji in the caption.

Police have labeled Nancy’s home in Arizona a crime scene, but they don’t think the public needs to be worried.
At a press conference on February 2nd, Pima County Sheriff Nanos stated that he didn’t believe there was a current danger, but emphasized that the investigation was ongoing and much work remained.
Savannah hasn’t appeared on Today since February 1st, when her mother was reported missing. However, local authorities have been checking in with her to ensure her well-being.
The sheriff confirmed they had spoken with her. Her security team has been communicating with them all night, but they aren’t ruling anything out at this point.

On Feb. 2, Pima County police shared a series of updates on the timeline of Nancy’s disappearance.
Investigators now believe the woman was likely taken from her home against her will, potentially while she was sleeping. The Pima County Sheriff’s Office told MS Now on February 2nd that detectives are investigating the possibility of a kidnapping.

After news broke that Nancy might have been taken from her home in Arizona while she was sleeping, Savannah made a heartfelt plea.
In a recent Instagram post on February 2nd, she expressed her faith, writing, ‘We believe in the power of prayer, in coming together with love and hope, and in the goodness of humanity. Most importantly, we believe in God.’
Savannah continued, thanking everyone for keeping her mother, Nancy, in their thoughts and prayers. She described Nancy as a woman of strong beliefs and a devoted person, and asked for continued prayers, believing they would provide comfort and strength right now.
She added, “we need you.”
To conclude her plea, Savannah shared a Bible verse from Isaiah.
She shared a verse from Isaiah, writing, ‘He will keep those with steadfast hearts and unwavering trust in the Lord in perfect peace.’ She added that this message holds true for everyone, always.
Savannah continued, “Bring her home.”

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos stated that DNA evidence was discovered at Nancy’s house, which is now being treated as a crime scene.
We collected samples and are hoping they contain enough DNA to help us identify what we’re looking for, he told NBC News in a report on Today on February 3rd.

On February 4th, Savannah, Camron, and Annie read letters hoping to secure their mother’s safe return. The letters were addressed to both their mom and anyone who might be holding her, and they pleaded for Nancy to come home safely.
In a video posted to Instagram, the family said they are doing everything possible and are willing to communicate. They emphasized the need for absolute proof that their loved one is alive and in the possession of whoever has her, given how easily videos and images can be altered these days.
She described her mother as the center of their world and a source of comfort. Sadly, her mother’s health is failing, and she’s in constant pain. She doesn’t have access to the medication she desperately needs, both to stay alive and to relieve her suffering.
The next day, Camron confirmed in a separate video that the family was still “waiting for contact.”
We’re asking whoever has our mother to please contact us. We haven’t received any direct communication, and we need to establish a way to connect so we can begin to resolve this.
During a press conference on February 5th, FBI special agent Heith Janke stated that authorities are treating a detailed ransom letter shared with TMZ as a very serious matter. He also noted that the Guthrie family is still awaiting further contact from the perpetrators.
