Of all the different universes in the Gundam franchise, New Mobile Report Gundam Wing is arguably the most popular and continues to be celebrated with a wide range of merchandise. A new, multi-colored collectible has even been released to commemorate a recent anniversary for the anime.
The MGSD Wing Gundam Zero (EW) Structural Coating model kit offers a unique look, trading the traditional white and blue color scheme for a darker, more colorful design. The result is a Gundam with a matte finish that still subtly shines when viewed from different angles. This new version arrives over thirty years after the original Gundam and more than four years after the first Gundam model kits were released.
Gundam Wing Turns a New Shade With New Master Grade Gunpla Model Kit
I’m really excited about Bandai’s MGSD Wing Gundam Zero (EW) Structural Coating! It’s a fantastic kit, and while it’s part of the SD Gundam line, it perfectly captures the amazing design of the Wing Zero from New Mobile Report Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz. They’ve managed to shrink down this iconic mobile suit, complete with those incredible organic wings, into a really cool, smaller form – it’s just awesome!
Despite being incredibly detailed, this new model kit offers a fresh take on the classic mecha design. While the outer armor is a sleek black, the real highlight is the rainbow-colored inner frame. This creates a unique, shimmering effect when viewed from different angles, capturing the idea of a fleeting, beautiful impression. As fans would expect, the kit also includes the Wing Gundam Zero’s signature double cannons.
Aside from that basic information, details about this model kit are limited, although it appears to be a recolored version of an older SD Master Grade kit of the same mobile suit. We’ll probably learn the price and release date soon, and it might be available later this year. This information was shared during the finale of the Gunpla 45th Anniversary Special Broadcast, which celebrated the 45th anniversary of Gundam model kits that first launched in 1980.
I’m so excited to see all the new Gunpla kits still coming out! It really shows how incredibly popular the anime remains, even though it’s turning 30 in 2025. And it’s awesome to see Bandai trying new things with Gunpla, especially with what they’ve hinted at for the future.
