The popular anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba will be back on television this Spring, though it won’t be the new season many fans are hoping for. The movie, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle, has been very successful in Japanese theaters since its release last year, and will continue to be shown with new screenings and releases through 2026. While fans are eager for news about the home video release of the first film, or any information about a second film, the anime series itself is preparing for a TV return.
The popular anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba will be re-aired on television in Japan, starting with the first episode. While fans outside of Japan won’t be able to watch it on TV, a new trailer and poster have been released to promote the re-run. This is the latest in a series of re-releases for the franchise, which have included showings in theaters and on television.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Updates Seem Far Away
Starting Sunday, April 5th, all episodes of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba will re-air on TV, taking over the timeslot previously held by One Piece before its schedule changed in 2026. With the recent return of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle to theaters in updated IMAX and Screen X formats, it’s obvious the anime will continue to be re-released and promoted in various ways for the foreseeable future.
It looks like fans will likely have to wait a significant amount of time for the next big installment in the series. While Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle still has two films left in its planned trilogy, the strong performance of the first movie means there’s no immediate need to release them. The franchise remains incredibly popular, and these re-releases will continue to build excitement in Japan for the foreseeable future.
When Does Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 Come Out?

While an exact release date hasn’t been announced for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle Part 2, some reports suggest it might come out in 2027. This timing would fit with the anime series’ current schedule. Because the first film is still playing in theaters for an extended period, it’s delaying the release of a home video version and making it harder to effectively promote a second film.
Since the next Infinity Castle installment isn’t expected until 2027—possibly next summer or fall—there’s no rush to start promoting it now. Current TV broadcasts and theatrical re-releases are already keeping fans engaged. Demon Slayer will return when it’s ready, so we just need to be patient and see when that will be.
