Super Bowl 2026: Green Day Performs at Opening Ceremony

Green Day hopes you have the time of your life at the 2026 Super Bowl.

The Grammy-winning artists kicked off the big game on February 8th by performing their popular song, “Holiday,” before the New England Patriots played the Seattle Seahawks.

Prior to the performance of the 2005 song, several former Super Bowl MVPs – including Tom Brady, Jalen Hurts, Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, and Jerry – walked onto the field to commemorate sixty years of the Super Bowl, accompanied by an instrumental version of “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life).”

As a huge Green Day fan, it was incredible seeing Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool perform at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California for the Super Bowl’s 60th celebration! They kicked things off with “Holiday,” then seamlessly went into “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” and immediately followed it up with “American Idiot.” It was an amazing set!

With Bad Bunny headlining the Super Bowl Halftime Show and Charlie Puth singing the national anthem, the band from Northern California was thrilled to perform near their hometown of Rodeo.

Billie announced in a statement that she’s thrilled to host Super Bowl 60 in her city. She expressed excitement about welcoming football legends and providing a great experience for fans worldwide, encouraging everyone to enjoy the event and make some noise!
