Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Photos Unveil Major Redesigns for 2 Main Characters

The second season of Daredevil: Born Again will feature updated looks for some popular characters. Following the success of Season 1, Marvel is releasing the new episodes just a year later. While many familiar faces will return, viewers can expect to see at least two characters with significantly redesigned appearances.

Marvel Studios has announced that Charlie Cox’s Daredevil (Matt Murdock) and Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page will have new looks for the second season of Daredevil: Born Again. These changes are a direct result of the events that unfolded in Season 1, and will significantly alter how both characters appear.

The biggest change for Daredevil is his new look. He’s ditching the all-red suit and will now wear mostly black with red highlights. Plus, his chest will feature a prominent double-D symbol.

Official trailers, photos, and pictures from the set have given us a glimpse of Daredevil’s new costume. One image in particular showed off the suit’s red details, which will appear on areas like the shoulders and mask.

The initial photo of Daredevil’s updated suit was taken with red lighting, making it difficult to see the true color. Because of the lighting, the suit appeared very similar to the one from Season 1, even though the designs are almost the same. Despite this, the suit is still technically black in the photo, it’s just hard to tell.

Similar to how the photo emphasized the suit’s redness, a shot from the Daredevil trailer really highlighted how dark the suit is. It also hinted that the suit’s color might reflect Matt Murdock’s emotional state and more intense behavior in the second season.

The director really hammers home the character’s menacing nature with a tight close-up. It’s not subtle – we get a really intense look at his mask, specifically how incredibly black it is. Combined with the completely blacked-out eyes, the effect is genuinely unsettling; he looks less like a man and more like a creature straight out of hell. It’s a visual cue that doesn’t leave much to the imagination.

As we saw, Daredevil’s new suit will feature some red details and two ‘D’ symbols on the chest. A recently released image showed the suit in better lighting, making the red parts stand out more clearly. The ‘Ds’ themselves are a bright red color, which creates a strong visual contrast with the rest of the suit.

Under some lighting conditions, the suit from Season 2 appears quite similar to the one from Season 1. But when you look at them directly next to each other, the color difference becomes clear, as do the ‘D’s on Matt’s chest.

Just like Matt Murdock (Daredevil), Karen Page, played by Deborah Ann Woll, will have a significantly updated look in the second season of Daredevil: Born Again. Official photos and the show’s trailer have given fans a first glimpse at her character’s transformation.

We got a great first glimpse of the updated Karen in a photo of her with Matt. In the picture, she was sporting a dark, scarlet-colored wig with bangs, along with bold black eyeliner and a black leather jacket.

Fans got plenty of glimpses of Karen’s updated appearance in the Season 2 trailer, as she featured prominently throughout.

In one scene, viewers saw a more familiar side of Karen – without her wig and leather jacket, she appeared as fans typically remember her, with her natural hairstyle.

A new image from the show’s promotional material shows her without her wig, but wearing the leather jacket from the previously released photos.

Just like with Matt, the change in Karen’s look between Season 1 and Season 2 is really noticeable when you compare photos side-by-side. The wig makes her appear almost unrecognizable.

Why Do Matt and Karen Look Different in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

Matt Murdock and Karen Page have noticeably different looks in Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. This isn’t just a fashion update; it’s important to the story and suggests significant changes for both characters in the new season.

The first season of Daredevil: Born Again concluded with Matt Murdock forced into hiding from Wilson Fisk, also known as Kingpin. After Fisk won the mayoral election and vowed to eliminate vigilantes, Matt realized he had to go into hiding to protect himself.

Matt and Karen need to disguise themselves whenever they’re out in public. Because Fisk knows Matt is Daredevil, both Matt and those close to him, such as Karen, are in danger.

The black suit Matt is wearing might suggest a more intense and brooding Daredevil in the new season. He’s already faced extreme challenges, and it’s likely Season 2 will push him even further.
