I’m so hyped for the potential State of Play this week! Everyone’s been wondering if we’ll finally get a proper look at the Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag remake, but it sounds like it won’t be at this event. A reliable insider, Shinobi602, said the remake isn’t planned for the showcase. The good news is, they also think Ubisoft has a release date picked out, and it’s coming sooner rather than later, which is awesome!
When someone asked why Ubisoft hasn’t released the Black Flag remake yet and if it was finished, Shinobi602 explained that the game isn’t being delayed, but rather that the announcement and release are planned for a future date that’s coming soon.
Early in the year, rumors began circulating about a remake of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. One notable rumor involved a potential collectible figure appearing for sale online. The figure depicted the main character, Edward Kenway, at the ship’s wheel with the game’s logo on a black flag. Although the figure didn’t reveal many specifics, Ubisoft acknowledged the buzz with a playful response.
I just saw the funniest thing on the Assassin’s Creed social media! They posted a meme of CJ from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, right at the beginning of the game when he says, “Ah, s, here we go again.” It’s a totally unexpected and hilarious nod to another classic game!
The upcoming remake, currently known as Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, was initially expected to launch on March 19th. However, it now appears the game has been pushed back to a 2027 release.
Sony hasn’t officially announced the next State of Play presentation, but it’s widely expected to happen on February 12th. This date surfaced after Mihir Sheth, a director at Sony, accidentally retweeted an announcement from last year’s event. Although it’s not an official confirmation, it’s likely Sheth shared the post thinking it was related to the upcoming showcase’s promotion.
Hideo Kojima, director of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, is back to editing footage. He mentioned it’s been eight months since he last did video editing, and his recent post suggests he’s working on a trailer to be shown at the upcoming State of Play event.
Hideo Kojima has mentioned he’d rather release small updates than create downloadable content for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. Because of this, the recent trailer could be announcing the game’s release on PC. This timing would match the pattern of the first Death Stranding, which was initially released on PlayStation 4 in 2019 and then came to PC in 2020.
