Sony has announced its next State of Play presentation will be held on February 12th at 2 PM Pacific Time / 5 PM Eastern Time. The event, which was hinted at in recent rumors and briefly confirmed by a mistaken retweet, is expected to last over an hour and feature news, gameplay updates, and announcements from game developers around the world, including the latest news from PlayStation Studios.
You can also look forward to exciting indie and third-party games. We’re likely to see titles like Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, possibly with a release date, and fresh gameplay for Saros, which is coming out in April. Marvel’s Wolverine is a bit more uncertain, as Insomniac usually starts promoting their games closer to their release.
I’m really hoping we see more of 4:Loop from Bad Robot Games – it looks promising, and the fact that it’s from one of the creators of Left 4 Dead makes me think it could be big. I’m a little worried about Fairgame$ though, since we haven’t heard anything about it since it was announced last May, especially with Jade Raymond leaving Haven Studios. But if we’re talking about games that could really excite everyone, I’d love to see Starfield finally come to PS5, maybe alongside news of its second expansion. There’s also been a lot of talk about a 2.5D God of War spin-off, and fingers crossed we finally get an update on Silent Hill: Townfall – that would be amazing!
Honestly, I’m still hoping we’ll get more news about Horizon Hunters Gathering! We’ll just have to wait and see what happens, but I’ll definitely keep an eye out for any updates and let you know if I hear anything!
A new State of Play presentation will be broadcast on February 12th. The 60+ minute show will feature the latest news, gameplay footage, and announcements from game developers around the world.
