Stranger Things Season 5: Deaths, Cliffhangers, and Theories Revealed in First Teaser

As I eagerly await the arrival, I can hardly contain my excitement – the preparations are all set, the stage is poised for a thrilling showdown, and the conclusion seems just around the corner. Yes, Stranger Things Season 5 is almost upon us!

Netflix has unveiled the initial sneak peek for the last installment of its blockbuster sci-fi series, leaving fans buzzing with ideas and speculation over future events.

The entire group comes together again to confront Jamie Campbell Bower’s character, Vecna, in the ultimate showdown over Hawkins. The sneak peek hints at devastation, fear, and potentially heartbreaking casualties.

As we gear up for the emotional farewell of this beloved series, here are some speculations for its final season – derived from our passionate affection for the show, close examination of hints in the latest trailer, and picking up on subtle cues from the Duffer Brothers and cast members.

Jonathan Byers is not long for this world

It’s quite plausible that the theory gaining traction after watching the trailer is based on the strong impression that Jonathan Byers, played by Charlie Heaton, might meet his end.

As a devoted cinephile, I can’t help but notice that, though sparsely seen, the enigmatic presence of Jonathan in the latest trailer still manages to send shivers down my spine. The intensity of the feelings evoked when he graces the screen is nothing short of remarkable.

Shortly following the moment when Jonathan gazes into Nancy’s eyes and says, “This connection binds us eternally,” we observe Nancy (Natalia Dyer) crying in front of a mirror, attempting to cleanse blood from her hands. In this instant, it could be inferred that she has just observed Jonathan’s demise and was unable to intervene. It is quite probable.

Although some fans speculate that beloved character Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) may meet his end, it could be Jonathan’s death that carries a more profound emotional resonance – consider the heartache Nancy and Joyce would feel, as they would essentially lose two sons throughout the series. Netflix, prepare to tug at our heartstrings!

The Vanishing of Holly Wheeler

In the upcoming fifth season, Holly Wheeler, the younger sibling of Nancy and Mike (played by Finn Wolfhard), will take on a larger role than previously shown. The fact that she is being portrayed by Nell Fisher instead of her original actress suggests a significant part for her. Additionally, her frequent appearances in the new trailer hint at an expanded role.

Initially, one of the episode titles was left blank, only saying “The Vanishing of…”. Many fans are now guessing that this mystery episode could be named “The Vanishing of Holly Wheeler”.

In the confined space of the trailer, I couldn’t help but feel a chilling fear that suggested a confrontation with Vecna was imminent. My mother, Karen (Cara Buono), seemed to be my only defense, and at one critical moment, she acted impulsively, hurling us both into the water. It felt like an attempt to conceal ourselves from danger.

When Mike and Nancy are preoccupied, might Vecna seize the youngest family member? Will she manage to escape unharmed?

Eddie won’t be resurrected – but will have a role beyond the grave

As a die-hard movie fan, I can’t help but notice the buzz among fellow fans about an intriguing detail from the latest trailer. There’s this chilling scene showing Eddie Munson’s grave inscribed with “Burn in Hell,” and it appears that someone has written these ominous words in what looks like blood. And let me tell you, it’s got everyone talking!

On a lighter note, Dustin (played by Gaten Matarazzo) caught my eye too, sporting some rings that seem to pay homage to Eddie’s unique style or perhaps they even belonged to him. It’s these little details that make the wait for the new season all the more exciting!

As I sat down to watch the tantalizing sneak peek of season 5, the spirit of our dearly departed character, Eddie, was palpable throughout. Some ardent viewers have speculated about a potential resurrection for Eddie, and while it may seem far-fetched, it’s important to remember the boundless possibilities that the realm of Dungeons & Dragons offers. So, while I can’t say with certainty whether we’ll see our beloved character return, I must admit the prospect is intriguing indeed.

From a storytelling perspective, resurrecting Eddie after his tragic demise last season wouldn’t do justice. Yet, in keeping with Eddie’s character, there might be a way for him to influence events even from beyond the grave.

It’s plausible that the place where his grave is located might turn out to be crucial in the storyline. Alternatively, a statement he made earlier could become vital for overcoming Vecna. There could also be items among his belongings that may aid the group during their ultimate confrontation.

Either way, Eddie won’t be forgotten this season in a hurry.

Will’s connection to the Upside Down will save lives

When will Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) get a break?! Certainly not in season 5.

This season, we’ve witnessed scenes where Will is seen leaping through the woods in an effort to elude Vecna, and his terrified yells urging others to flee. Given his increasingly tormented appearance, it’s clear that he’s not going to have a pleasant experience again.

But, after all this time, Will has grown pretty used to his connection to the Upside Down.

Previously, it might have only caused fear, but this time it could unexpectedly turn out to be beneficial. It wouldn’t shock us at all if Will leverages that connection to rescue his companions.

An open-ended finale

As a devoted fan, I can confidently say that the captivating universe of Stranger Things isn’t going to stop at the original series. In fact, an animated spin-off titled Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 is already brewing, and it’s not hard to imagine more exciting tales emerging from this magical world.

From a fan’s perspective, it seems fitting for the series to conclude with an unresolved note. While I’d love to see our heroes’ stories fully resolved, the finale might leave us with a lingering trace of Vecna or some residual danger from Will’s connection to the Upside Down that could pose threats in potential future events.

Instead, it’s possible that the final episode might delve into Henry Creel’s past, during his youth, as a means to establish a fresh narrative centered on the stage production, The First Shadow.

One thing’s for sure – the impact of Stranger Things season 5 will be felt for a long time!
