Despite being just two years into the new Ultimate Universe, fans have fallen in love with its innovative storytelling and popular titles like “Ultimate Spider-Man.” The initial event of this universe is currently unfolding, but there’s a hint of things to come that seem reminiscent of an Endgame.

Marvel unveiled a sneak peek for the Ultimate Universe that echoes the strategy used for Avengers: Endgame. The press release states, “Marvel Comics’ Ultimate Universe is heading towards its own Endgame…” This upcoming event series, set to begin in December, will be fully detailed later this week. It seems that the title of this series might be “Ultimate Endgame,” and the accompanying image shows the letter “U” gradually disappearing, reminiscent of how Thanos eliminated half of life in Avengers: Infinity War. Just as Avengers: Endgame showed Earth’s remaining Avengers embarking on a perilous time-travel adventure to restore their allies and the world, this series appears to involve stopping Thanos once again.

On Thursday, we’ll get a sneak peek of the “Ultimate Endgame” teaser, and additional details are promised for later this week. It appears that the official announcement will drop on Friday, July 18th. This places it squarely in the pre-San Diego Comic-Con period, with potential revelations during a panel at the event. The Ultimate Universe has been leading up to The Maker’s return, as the Ultimates scramble to find a solution to prevent the villainous Reed Richards from being freed from his prison.
