Wonder Man Confirms Return of an MCU Character Not Seen in Three Years

In an exciting turn of events, I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be reprising my role as Agent Cleary in the upcoming Marvel Television series, “Wonder Man.” According to Deadline, my character is expected to play a significant part in this new venture. You might remember me from “Spider-Man: No Way Home” and more recently in “Ms. Marvel” on Disney+. Agent Cleary works for the Department of Damage Control, which is tasked with cleaning up the chaos caused by superpowered individuals. I’m joining a stellar cast that includes Ben Kingsley, who will reprise his role as Trevor Slattery in the same series. This promises to be an incredible journey, and I can’t wait for you all to see it!

Over the past twenty years, Moayed has established a consistent acting career on television. He’s been featured in numerous shows including Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, White Collar, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, The Following, and The Blacklist. However, his most recognized performances have been as Mohammed “Mo” Alwash in Madam Secretary, Todd in Inventing Anna, and Stewy Hosseini in Succession. Lately, he has made appearances on the CBS series Elsbeth and the Apple TV+ film Fountain of Youth.

The “Wonder Man” series was developed by director Destin Daniel Cretton and writer Andrew Guest. Destin Daniel Cretton, who directed “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” for Marvel Studios, has been responsible for directing several episodes in this series. This project is part of a multi-year agreement between Cretton and Marvel Studios and Hulu’s Onyx Collective. Andrew Guest, who previously worked on “Hawkeye,” is also involved in the series. The main character, Simon Williams, portrayed by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, is an actor struggling to find his way in Hollywood amidst the presence of superheroes. The development of this project has been ongoing for quite some time now, with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II joining the cast three years ago.

Marvel Studios has kept details about Wonder Man under wraps, only recently providing glimpses into its Disney+ series. Originally created by Stan Lee, Don Heck, and Jack Kirby, Wonder Man first appeared in The Avengers #9 back in 1964. Before the Disney+ show, there was almost a live-action introduction of Wonder Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Nathan Fillion playing the role. During the filming of Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2, photos revealed Fillon as Williams, but that scene was eventually removed.

The character known as Wonder Man will be played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in the lead role, with Kingsley taking on the part of Slattery, Demetrius Grosse portraying Eric Williams, and Ed Harris yet to reveal his role. Additionally, Lauren Glazier and Byron Bowers are anticipated to feature in the series. Marvel Studios has been tight-lipped about the upcoming show’s specifics, but as promotional efforts ramp up, we can expect more details to emerge in the forthcoming months.

At present, it’s still uncertain when Wonder Man will officially air, but speculations point towards its premiere on Disney+ around December this year. The series is planned to have a total of eight episodes, though the exact lengths of each episode remain undisclosed as of now.
