Awful PS5 Dino Shooter Code Violet Will Get a Sequel… for Some Reason

Code Violet, the poor PS5 dinosaur shooter released last month, was a bad game.

Despite initial challenges, a sequel is now in the works! Teamkill Media announced ‘Code UltraViolet’ today, citing the surprisingly positive reception and strong community support for the original ‘Code Violet’ as the reason.

Code Violet has received generally negative reviews. Its Metacritic score is 29, based on critic reviews, and users gave it a 2.6 out of 10. Players on the PlayStation Store rated it 2.88 out of 5. Notably, 36% of the nearly 4,000 PS5 purchasers gave the game a one-star rating.

Our review of Code Violet for the PS5 gave it a score of 4 out of 10. We found the game to be technically flawed, with uninspired combat and repetitive environments. We also noted that the game’s overly sexualized character designs and camera angles felt inconsistent with the story and Violet’s character.
