Whale Drama: Bitcoin Dives Every Time He Deposits-Again

Dear diary, Bitcoin has been behaving like a drama queen lately-glamorous one day, galloping off the rails the next. It’s traded down from just over $90,000 on January 28 to a shy $60,000 last Friday, as if it’s auditioning for a role in a bleak financial soap opera.

Meanwhile, the market’s atmosphere remains about as cheerful as a cancelled tapas night, and Lookonchain has just dropped another potential sell signal like a designer handbag in a charity shop.

You need to watch this whale!

Over the past 2 days, he has deposited 8,200 BTC($559M) into #Binance.

Every time he deposits the price drops.

Yesterday, I warned when he made a deposit – and soon after, $BTC dropped over 3%.

The analytics crowd notes that the mysterious whale moved 8,200 BTC (worth roughly $560 million) into Binance in just the last 48 hours, darling. It’s giving “grand entrance” a whole new meaning.

Shortly after the previous deposit to the world’s biggest exchange, the cryptocurrency’s price slid about 3% within minutes, tumbling from nearly $69,000 to $65,000 with the speed of a taxi ride gone wrong.

In a subsequent post, Lookonchain added that the whale kept the party going, transferring another batch of over 2,000 BTC to Binance, presumably with the intention to sell. It’s all very public-school-society-gossip, but with bigger numbers and fewer chaperones.

8,200 BTC to exchanges is not noise – it’s intent.

Large inflows often signal distribution or hedging.

Liquidity tells the story before price does.

In other financial soap opera news, Binance has just completed turning its entire $1 billion SAFU fund into bitcoin, snapping up roughly 15,000 BTC. And yes, the Strategy crew keeps buying weekly, darling, but BTC’s price merrily refuses to bounce back in any meaningful way. It’s as if the market’s closet is full of fabulous jackets that don’t fit the price at all.

Expect more volatility later today when the US January CPI numbers drop. Because nothing says fashion week like a fresh economic data release that destabilizes the coffee shop where you check prices.
