In Coronation Street, teenager Will Driscoll (played by Lucas Hodgson Wale) was arrested after assaulting his teacher, Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard).
As many remember, the event happened on Christmas Day, right after a rather uncomfortable dinner.
Daniel recently started dating Megan Walsh, Will’s athletics coach (played by Beth Nixon), not realizing she was inappropriately pursuing a relationship with a student. This made Will see Daniel as a competitor for Megan’s attention, and things quickly became strained between them.
Okay, so the drama really kicked off after the party. Daniel, in a surprisingly candid moment, pulled Will aside and called him out on his obvious feelings for Megan – but then told him to stay out of it, letting the grown-ups handle romance. The irony? Just moments later, we find Daniel himself seriously injured, beaten up in that familiar alleyway, discovered by the ever-present Evelyn Plummer. It’s a classic soap twist – the one who dishes out advice ends up needing help, and it’s a really unsettling turn of events.

A quick flashback revealed Will was clearly the one who caused the trouble, and his grandmother, Maggie, had seen everything happen from the bedroom window at the Rovers.
Today, Daniel visited a restorative justice program in prison and had the chance to meet the man who had been wrongly convicted in the case.

The man, formerly homeless and recently released from prison, walked with a limp into the room and told us his name. He said he didn’t remember committing the crime, but acknowledged that Daniel’s belongings were found in his tent, implying he was likely responsible.
The teacher was skeptical and asked how long the student had been dealing with his leg injury. She was surprised to learn it wasn’t a recent injury, which didn’t match his claim that he’d seen the person who hurt him running away.
It quickly became clear the man was simply relieved to be out of the harsh conditions of the streets, and he actually preferred the warmth and security of being in prison.

When Daniel overheard Maggie say Will had a history of anger, he immediately went to find him and demand answers. It suddenly clicked – Daniel now understood Will was the man he’d seen that night – and he quickly called the police.
Kit Green, played by Jacob Roberts, had to physically restrain the young boy, pinning him against the door to prevent him from running away, all while the Driscoll family looked on in shock. Seeing this, Megan broke down in tears.
Is Will about to be sent down?
