This year, Marvel is releasing only two new movies in its Cinematic Universe: Spider-Man: Brand New Day in July and Avengers: Doomsday in December. While Marvel quickly began promoting Avengers: Doomsday with four teaser trailers released within a month, we haven’t seen any footage for Brand New Day, despite it being five months away from release. Many fans expected a trailer during the Super Bowl, but it didn’t appear, leading to questions about when the first look at the movie will be revealed. Now, the director of Brand New Day, Destin Daniel Cretton, is speaking about the situation.
Director Cretton recently spoke with Big Gold Belt Media about the anticipated trailer for Brand New Day. He jokingly acknowledged the strong desire for a preview, assuring fans that it is coming and will be great, though he didn’t offer any details on when it might be released.
When Will the First Spider-Man: Brand New Day Trailer Release?

Because the studio hasn’t given any hints about when the Spider-Man trailer will drop, fans are still guessing and making predictions. It’s worth noting that with the animated film Goat currently in cinemas, Sony doesn’t have any other major releases scheduled until Spider-Man: Brand New Day in July. This makes things tricky, as studios often attach trailers to other films—like Disney did with the Doomsday teasers and Avatar: Fire and Ash—but Sony won’t have that option this time around.
As a huge movie fan, I’ve noticed Sony seems to be taking a page from their Spider-Man: No Way Home strategy with their marketing for Brand New Day. Remember how the first No Way Home trailer dropped only about four months before the movie actually came out? That really worked – the film made almost $2 billion worldwide! Sony clearly knows how to run a successful Spider-Man campaign, even with a quick turnaround, and they’re probably hoping to do the same thing with Brand New Day.
It looks like the first glimpse of the new movie won’t appear until sometime in March. Although Sony doesn’t have any major releases planned that month, several interesting films are coming out, including the Pixar movie Hoppers and the highly anticipated sci-fi film Project Hail Mary. The trailer for the new movie could potentially be shown before either of these films. Showing it with Project Hail Mary would probably be the best strategy, as the two films likely appeal to similar audiences. If Project Hail Mary is a success, it will attract a large audience, giving the trailer a lot of exposure.
Everyone is really excited for the 2026 movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and fans are desperate for a first glimpse. With a storyline involving organized crime, appearances by the Hulk and the Punisher, and the intriguing role played by Sadie Sink, people are keen to see how everything fits together. While Marvel trailers usually don’t reveal too much of the plot, viewers are hoping for a better understanding of what Brand New Day will be about. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait much longer to see some footage and start figuring it all out.
