Back in the early 2000s, many gamers fantasized about a team-up between Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid and Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell. You can probably still find fan stories about that pairing online, likely on old websites from the era.
Thanks to the popular game Rainbow Six Siege, the famous super-agent is now a playable character in the game permanently.
The next big update for the ongoing event, Operation Silent Hunt, starts on March 3rd. It will include new cosmetic items inspired by Metal Gear Solid and a new game mode featuring Sam Fisher.
Solid Snake has special skills, like his Soliton Radar MK3, which lets him see the layout of the area around him and even detect what his enemies can see.
Although he begins each round with less equipment than other players, he can gather more gear during the match through On-Site Procurement. This allows him to adjust his strategy and tools to fit what each round demands.
And yes, he’s armed with a silenced pistol, in addition to a couple of different rifles.
A new 4v4 mode is coming, bringing together Solid Snake and Sam Fisher on a revamped version of the Nighthaven Labs map—now designed to feel like the world of Metal Gear Solid. Playing this mode will also let you unlock new outfits based on the characters Meryl and Jackal.
