Blades of Fire Gets 10-Hour Free Trial on Xbox Series X/S Until July 20

In just a couple of months since its launch, the action RPG “Blades of Fire” is gearing up to attract more gamers due to an upcoming promotion through Xbox Free Play Days. From now until July 20th, players can experience this game for free on Xbox Series X/S for as many as 10 hours. Additionally, the game’s price has been reduced by 20% on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC (via Epic Games Store).

Trying out “Blades of Fire” via the Xbox Free Play Days program grants you access to the entire game for 10 hours. Should you choose to buy a copy of the game on Xbox Series X/S, any progress made during the trial will be transferable to the full version of the game.

It’s important to point out that this free trial isn’t connected to the demo that was launched a week prior to Blades of Fire‘s release. Unlike the demo, which is accessible across all platforms and offers just the initial few hours of gameplay, this trial provides a full 10-hour access to the game. However, progress made in the demo can be transferred to the complete version of the game.

Back in May, the game titled “Blades of Fire” hit both PC and console platforms. Simultaneously, a fresh trailer was unveiled, offering glimpses into the overall narrative framework, introducing characters, and previewing the diverse obstacles players can expect to encounter during gameplay.

As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but be thrilled by the unique selling point that sets “Blades of Fire” apart from other Souls-inspired action RPGs. What truly captures my attention is the profound focus on weapon crafting through its innovative Forge system. In an interview back in March, lead game designer Joan Amat provided insights into this intriguing feature, clarifying that unlike some games where players may transform into magical deities by the end of their journey, “Blades of Fire” takes a different approach to progression systems. Instead, it seems to prioritize the art and strategy of forging powerful weapons over divine transformation.

Amat expressed, “It’s not possible for the protagonist Aran to transform into a magic deity at the end of Blades of Fire, is it? There are many amazing things you could do instead, such as having his weapon emit fireballs or other impressive effects.” But our intention is something much more significant.

In Blades of Fire, Amat explained that the forging system considers the characteristics of real-world weapons, not just game stats like power or dexterity. This approach enables players to select their preferred weapon components, resulting in a virtually endless variety of weapon combinations.

According to Amat, these [Historical YouTubers] are discussing topics like edges, balance, center of mass, grips, and maneuverability, specifically in terms of handling and alignment. However, they’re not referring to skills such as agility, physical strength, endurance, intelligence, or dexterity, correct? Those aspects aren’t what they’re focusing on.

Transitioning from a statistics-focused approach to adopting a mindset centered around challenges, we found maintaining balance significantly easier. The key lies in ensuring the enemy is robust against certain aspects but vulnerable in others. Unlike other RPGs that emphasize power complexity, our game revolves more around strategic positioning rather than brute force.
