Jelly Roll is anything but beautifully broken after his dramatic weight loss.
Justin Timberlake’s wife, Bunnie Xo, recently shared that his physique has changed significantly after he lost 275 pounds over five years, specifically noting a considerable increase in size.
I was cracking up listening to her on The Howard Stern Show the other day! She playfully said that when someone loses weight, well, things definitely get bigger – and then she worried that Jason DeFord, aka Jelly, would be furious if he found out she shared that little detail! It was hilarious.
And the podcaster is all for her man to “get hot.”
Bunnie (whose full name is Alisa DeFord) told Howard Stern she thinks he’s due for some good luck and wants him to feel his best.
Jelly was happy with himself before losing weight, but according to Bunnie, the Grammy winner now feels good about his body in a new and different way.
She said he’s regained his confidence and is showing it off. He’s walking with a bit of a bounce in his step, and she thinks it’s adorable.
Jelly wasn’t always confident. He admitted to feeling like he had very low testosterone – comparing it to a young teenager – before he started losing weight.
I couldn’t believe it when I saw my testosterone levels – seriously, that was it? It was so frustrating. You just… can’t function properly without it. And the worst part? I was married to this incredibly beautiful woman, and even then I was having trouble. It was awful, honestly. I felt like something was seriously wrong, and it was all down to that number.
So much so, he likened having sex with Bunnie to playing a game of Twister.

He described a difficult experience on The Joe Rogan Experience in December, recalling saying, ‘Left foot here, right foot in the X… Are we in there yet? Tell me if you feel something.’ He said it was a really bad situation.
But now, Jelly said he’s now living in a “dramatically different world.”
He described the situation as completely new for him, joking to Men’s Health that he’s playfully chasing her around the house. ‘It’s like being a teenager again!’ he said. ‘I’m all over the place, popping up unexpectedly like the Pink Panther!’

Bunnie Xo and Jelly Roll’s relationship started in Las Vegas. Bunnie shared on the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast that she first met the singer in August 2015 while he was performing at the Las Vegas Country Saloon, before he became well-known. He was living in a van at the time, and the show only had about 20 people in the audience.
Despite the unlikely setting, they immediately connected. Bunnie described it as a cliché, but said she felt an instant recognition, like she’d found someone she was meant to be with. She also pointed out that they weren’t each other’s usual type – Jelly Roll is a fan of Taylor Swift, which isn’t what she typically goes for.
However, a romance didn’t begin immediately. Both were dealing with other things – Bunnie was in an unhealthy relationship, and Jelly Roll was focused on his own life. They reconnected in October 2015, and Bunnie quickly fell for him.
After Bunnie’s ex-partner went to prison, she asked a friend to pass her number along to Jelly Roll. He started calling and texting her for advice about his daughter, Bailee.
Their connection turned romantic in July 2016 when Jelly Roll returned to Las Vegas to film some videos. After a drunken encounter, Bunnie recalled him asking about her five-year plan, even in the heat of the moment. After discussing their goals, they decided to pursue a relationship.

Bunnie and Jelly Roll followed through on their plans, getting married in Las Vegas in August 2016, just a month after they first discussed it. She shared on the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast that they meticulously worked through a five-year plan together, culminating in buying a house.
Bunnie also had her own ambitions, including starting a podcast. Jelly Roll explained on The Howard Stern Show that when she left the sex work industry in 2019, he asked her what she was passionate about, and she expressed a desire to host a talk show. She launched the Dumb Blonde podcast later that year.
Bunnie used money she earned to support Jelly Roll’s career, investing in his 2017 album Addiction Kills and helping him with a custody battle for his daughter, as she revealed on Sofia Franklyn’s podcast Sofia with an F.

I’ve been following Jelly Roll’s story for a while now, and it’s truly incredible. His daughter, Bailee, born in 2008, completely changed his life. He was actually in prison for dealing drugs when she was born, but he always says she saved him, even though she was so young. Bailee came into his life around when he was starting out with his music, living in his van, and he admits he wasn’t the best father at first. But everything shifted when he fought for full custody because of her mother’s addiction. It’s amazing because his now-wife, Bunnie, stepped up in a huge way. Even though they were just starting their relationship, she paid for the lawyer and supported him through the whole process. They both realized they needed to get clean if they were going to bring Bailee into their lives. Bunnie has shared how they questioned whether they were any better than Bailee’s mother if they were still using. That was the turning point for her—she says she never touched a pill again. And she didn’t just become his partner, she became a mother to Bailee. It’s so touching—she wrote a message for Bailee’s 16th birthday thanking Jelly Roll for giving her the chance to be the mom she never had, and thanking Bailee for teaching her so much over the last eight years.

Jelly Roll and Bunnie welcomed their son, Noah, around the time they were getting married in August 2016 and while Jelly Roll was navigating a custody battle for his daughter, Bailee. He shared his feelings on Facebook, hoping Noah would achieve more than he had and wouldn’t suffer for his past mistakes.
Over the years, Jelly Roll and Bunnie have generally kept Noah’s life private, only occasionally sharing small updates. In July 2023, Bunnie posted a TikTok of a cute Q&A with Noah, where he revealed he loves soccer and playing in the water. She made sure to mention she had gotten permission from Noah’s mother before posting.
Bunnie and Jelly Roll have a good relationship with Noah’s mother, and Bunnie often expresses her gratitude for her role in Noah’s life. She described Noah’s mother as a wonderful person who helps care for Noah, especially when Jelly Roll and Bunnie are traveling for work.
Bunnie cherishes her role as Noah’s stepmother, and feels incredibly lucky to have him in her life. She shared on Instagram how much joy she gets from watching him grow up, especially when he attends his dad’s concerts.

Jelly Roll and Bunnie separated in 2018, two years after getting married. Jelly Roll later admitted to infidelity as the cause of the split, calling it a low point in his life. Despite the difficult time, they decided to work on their relationship and reconciled later that same year. He shared that rebuilding trust was challenging but ultimately made them stronger as a couple. While he wishes the affair hadn’t happened, he’s proud of the relationship they’ve built. Bunnie reflected on the experience on TikTok, saying their breakup and subsequent reconnection led them on an incredible journey and allowed them to build a stronger, more solid foundation for their future together.

As Jelly Roll’s popularity grew, he and his wife, Bunnie, made their red carpet debut together at the 2022 CMA Awards. In his documentary, Jelly Roll: Save Me, Bunnie described them as “the Addams Family of country music,” explaining that they felt like outsiders but were determined to be part of the scene.

Jelly Roll and Bunnie celebrated seven years of marriage in 2023 by renewing their vows. Bunnie remembered their original wedding day, sharing that Jelly Roll looked her in the eyes and promised to help her escape a difficult life and build a better future together. He kept that promise.
Bunnie reflected on the past seven years as a challenging but rewarding journey. They worked hard to overcome past traumas and create a loving, healthy relationship, and a stable home for Bailee. Through everything, they faced challenges together with smiles.
Bunnie affectionately described Jelly Roll as her soulmate, safe haven, and best friend, praising him as an exceptional man and her hero.

It’s amazing to see how happy Jelly Roll and Bunnie are together, they truly live in harmony! As a fan, it’s so special knowing Bunnie has been the inspiration behind some of his most powerful songs, like “Woman” and “Kill a Man.” He recently told Entertainment Tonight just how much she means to him. He’s always trying to write a love song that feels authentic to him, something that wasn’t cheesy or overly sentimental, and she helped him finally achieve that. He said he doesn’t see anyone else, and he wanted to be completely vulnerable in expressing how deeply he feels for her. And it’s not just through his music – they’ve even shared the screen together in the videos for “Wheels Fall Off” and “Lonely Road,” which also featured Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox. They’re a beautiful couple, and I’m so happy for them!

Seriously, I’m obsessed with Jelly and Bunnie! I’m always rooting for him, just like she is – whether I’m at a show or watching from home. She gets him, you know? She calls him her ‘visionary,’ her ‘maestro of misfits,’ and it’s just… perfect. She always reminds everyone this didn’t happen overnight – it’s been twenty years of hard work! I mean, she talks about those early days when it felt like no one was listening, and now look at him – arenas filled with fans! It’s incredible. She says she’s watched him pour his heart into his songs, writing these amazing, healing lyrics for anyone who’s hurting, and that those songs just reach people, filling the cracks in their souls. It’s so beautiful. She really sees him, and their love is everything! She calls him ‘Papabear’ and says his voice is healing, and honestly, I feel that too. She says she loves him in this life and every other, and I’m not crying, you’re crying! And he supports her right back! He’s so proud of everything she’s built with her podcast and on social media, especially how she inspires other women. It just makes his heart explode with joy, and honestly, it makes mine too! They’re just the sweetest, most supportive couple ever.

Okay, seriously, people need to understand – don’t even think about coming for my husband! It breaks my heart to even talk about this, but the awful things people said about Jelly’s weight before he lost over 200 pounds… it was just cruel. He actually had to get off the internet because of it, and honestly, it made me want to cry. He’s such a sweet soul, my angel baby, and he tries to act like it doesn’t bother him, but it does. People think being famous means you can just brush off hate, but that’s total BS! It’s never okay to bully anyone, you have no idea what they’re going through. I will always, always defend the underdogs, and you can believe I’m not letting anyone talk trash about my family or him. I’ll fight until my last breath. He’s been so open about everything, even admitting he felt like he was dying last year when he was dealing with low testosterone and other health stuff. It’s just… it’s too much sometimes, and people need to think before they type.

Oh my gosh, you guys, I’ve been following Jelly Roll and Bunnie’s story, and it’s just so touching! They’ve been so open about wanting to grow their family, and it’s been amazing to watch. Jelly Roll first hinted they were talking about having a baby, and then Bunnie shared everything on Instagram. She said they originally wanted to keep their IVF journey private, but they decided to share because they’re always so honest with their fans. She said it’s already been really hard, even though they’ve just started! They’ve been meeting with doctors and looking at all their options, and they’re both SO excited but also terrified. It’s funny, they never even thought they wanted more kids, but something changed this year, and now they just want a little piece of both of them to add to their already perfect family with Bailee and Noah. And Bunnie even talked about surrogacy on her podcast, Dumb Blonde – she said it’s just too risky for her to carry a child herself. It’s been a tough road, she admitted, but they’re putting it in God’s hands. If it’s meant to be, it will be, and if not, they’re open to adoption. I’m just sending them all the good vibes!
