Silent Hill, like many multiformat franchises, feels PlayStation.
However, this isn’t the first time a Silent Hill game has been released outside of Japan. Last year’s Silent Hill F, for example, launched simultaneously on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The series began on Sony’s PlayStation, so it wasn’t unexpected when Bloober Team’s remake of Silent Hill 2 first came out only on PlayStation consoles.
Konami appears to be sticking with a familiar approach for Silent Hill Townfall, as the game’s website currently lists versions only for PlayStation 5 and PC.
Things could still shift before the game comes out in late 2026, but currently, Sony seems to have a very firm grip on the future of the Silent Hill franchise, based on everything we’ve seen so far.
Townfall, created by the Scottish studio Screen Burn, is a story set on the island of St. Amelia.
I’m really enjoying what the publisher is doing with this series! Similar to how unique Neobards’ Silent Hill F is with its Japanese style, they seem willing to try out different ideas and even change up the gameplay, which is awesome.
We’re verifying whether this game will actually launch as a PlayStation 5 exclusive, and we’ll share an update as soon as we have confirmation.
