King Charles Breaks Silence on Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s Arrest

King Charles III does not condone the actions of his family. 

Following the arrest of the King’s brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor (previously known as Prince Andrew), on February 19th – his 66th birthday – Charles issued a statement expressing his disapproval.

We were deeply concerned to learn about the allegations against Prince Andrew regarding potential misconduct while in public office,” a statement said. “Now, the proper authorities will conduct a full and fair investigation into the matter.

As I’ve mentioned previously, we fully support and will cooperate with them,” the 77-year-old stated. “To be clear, the legal process must be allowed to proceed.”

Though, he won’t be speaking out on the topic more.

Charles finished by saying that because the situation is still developing, he couldn’t share any more details. He and his family will, however, keep working hard and serving the public as always.

Thames Valley Police announced they are investigating a claim of misconduct in public office connected to Andrew and his alleged relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew has denied any wrongdoing in the past.

Police stated they are committed to ensuring the investigation remains fair and unbiased while working with partners to look into the reported incident. They acknowledge strong public interest in the case and will share information when they can.

Before Andrew was arrested, Buckingham Palace shared Charles’s reaction to the possibility of an investigation.

Prince William and Kate Middleton have voiced their serious concerns regarding the revelations surrounding Epstein. A spokesperson for Kensington Palace stated that their primary concern is with the victims.

Before he was arrested, Andrew said he would no longer use his royal titles because of growing questions about his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.

In a statement released on October 17th, he explained that after talking with The King and his family, they all agreed the ongoing accusations against him were taking attention away from the important work of The King and the Royal Family.

The King is deeply concerned about the accusations surrounding Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor’s behavior, as he’s stated publicly and demonstrated through his recent actions, according to a statement released on February 9th. While Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor is responsible for responding to the claims himself, the King is prepared to cooperate fully with Thames Valley Police if they request assistance.

As mentioned before, Their Majesties continue to offer their support and heartfelt sympathy to anyone affected by abuse.

Høiby will appear in court on February 3rd to face charges related to four alleged rapes that occurred between 2018 and 2024, along with accusations of domestic violence and violating a restraining order.

In a statement to the Associated Press, his lawyers said Høiby denies all accusations of sexual abuse and most of the claims involving violence.
