Since Barry Keoghan was announced as part of the cast for the Peaky Blinders film, The Immortal Man, fans have been eagerly guessing which character the actor – known for his roles in Saltburn and The Banshees of Inisherin – will portray.
A popular theory predicted he would play Duke Shelby, the son of Cillian Murphy’s character Tommy, and a new trailer has now confirmed this to be true.
The new trailer begins with a voiceover from Rebecca Ferguson’s character, who tells Tom Cruise’s character, “Tommy, you live in a house haunted by the ghosts of people who died because of you.” This follows a short teaser that was released on Christmas Eve.
She continues, accusing him of leaving both his kingdom and his son. The scene then quickly cuts to a short shot of Murphy and Keoghan looking at each other.

We then see Tommy’s sister, Ada, talking to him in a car, telling him that his adopted son, Duke, is taking control of the Peaky Blinders just like it’s 1919 all over again. This is quickly confirmed as scenes show Duke directing violent acts.
“I can’t help him, because I’m not that man anymore,” Tommy later laments.
Things are taking a dark turn, as Tim Roth’s character – seemingly a Nazi – tries to recruit Duke for a crucial mission that could change the course of the war. Duke’s blunt reply? “I don’t care what happens to the world, and the world doesn’t care about me.”
The trailer shows Tommy returning to the Garrison pub, as well as the return of Stephen Graham as Hayden Stagg and a first look at Jay Lycurgo’s new character. It’s packed with action and ends with a hint of a dramatic showdown between Tommy and his son – you can watch the full trailer below.

Duke, Tommy’s son from a previous relationship, was first seen in the show’s final season. Played by Conrad Khan, Duke is a thief Tommy didn’t know existed. Now, it seems Duke has become more powerful while Tommy has been away.
Set in Birmingham, England, during World War II, the film follows Tommy Shelby as he returns from a period of self-imposed isolation to confront a potentially devastating challenge.

In addition to the trailer and some new photos, details about the movie’s soundtrack have been revealed. This includes a fresh recording of Nick Cave’s “Red Right Hand,” which was famously used as the theme song for the original TV series.
The soundtrack includes a total of 36 songs, featuring 5 newly recorded tracks and contributions from artists like Cave, Fontaines DC, Lankum, and McLusky.
The album also features two unique covers of Massive Attack songs – one reimagined by Grian Chatten, the lead singer of Fontaines D.C., and another by the artist Girl In The Year Above.
