Jennifer Garner Says Her, Ben Affleck’s Kids Think She’s “Cringe”

Jennifer Garner is embracing this non-elektrafying title from her kids. 

Jennifer Garner says her kids – Violet, 20, Seraphina, 17, and Samuel, 13 – think she’s embarrassing at times. She shared that they told her she was “fully cringe,” particularly when she asked for their opinions on her new Apple TV+ show, The Last Thing He Told Me. She shares these children with her ex-husband, Ben Affleck.

During an appearance on the Jennifer Hudson Show on February 18th with her costars Angourie Rice, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Judy Greer, Jennifer joked, “I’m just so embarrassing!” She explained that when she asked her kids if they planned to watch the new season of the show, they responded with a blunt, ‘Do we have to?’

The actress, 53, who plays Hannah Hall in the series based on Laura Dave’s 2021 novel, wasn’t bothered by her children’s reaction. She explained that most kids don’t like seeing their parents sad or in romantic situations.

Even though that conversation was funny, Jennifer explained how her connection to Judy, Angourie, and Nikolaj – who many people loved in Game of Thrones – is helping her overcome being seen as awkward back home.

She joked that Angourie makes her seem cool, then expressed affection for Nikolaj. She explained her son is currently a big fan of Game of Thrones, so she appreciates Nikolaj’s work. She also shared that her children all adore their Aunt Judy, and she feels lucky to have supportive friends.

Jennifer Garner, who is currently dating John Miller, has shared embarrassing stories before. She recently recalled a time she felt like a ‘mom fail’ when she contacted her children’s sports coach a few years back.

I sent the coach a funny email one weekend, joking that my child was really getting beaten in their game. I asked what that meant for practice the next morning, since we had plans, and if that was a typical outcome. I just thought I was being lighthearted.

Jennifer was horrified to discover she’d accidentally sent the message to the wrong group – the parent group she was part of.

She jokingly recalled it being the only time she’d ever used the ‘reply all’ function, sending a message to the entire team. As the Daredevil actress reflects on these funny memories, she and her ex-husband, Ben (who finalized their divorce in 2018), are focused on supporting their children’s passions rather than encouraging them to pursue careers in Hollywood. Ben explained to TopMob News on January 13th that having a public life adds pressure to children, and they want to give their kids the space to discover their own paths. He described them as intelligent, kind, and amazing, adding that they hope their children will find fulfillment outside of acting.
